Hi friends! This weekend I shared a few of my latest finds under $50 from Amazon. These are some pieces I think I’ll get some real wear out of this summer, so they’ve got my seal of approval. Let’s get to the pieces!

Gingham Boxer Shorts

I’m thinking the boxer trend is here to stay for a few more summers so I ended up grabbing these in the gingham print! The fit is perfectly relaxed, but still true to size. I went with the large and love them. Comes in so many prints and colors but I went with red gingham for summer. Find them here.

I’m in the large of the Madewell top. Fits perfectly loose and it’s non-sheer too! It’s 100% cotton, so it’s a great weight / feel for summer. Find it here.

Poplin U-Neck Swing Dress

Okay so I like this dress a lot, but I’ve got some notes. First off, it’s 100% cotton! (There is a poly liner though.) However, I think I’ll be swapping this out for the brown instead of the blue. I like dark neutrals and I’m more prone to wear them. I’m in the large of the dress but I’ve got to say it is not true to size. The size guide says 14-16 and this is fitting more like an 8. So keep that in mind!! Reviews say you can size down but that would have been disastrous for me! Most fitted at chest and under arms for me. Find it in lots of hues here!

(Also how cute is my clutch??)

Criss-Cross Sweater Tank

I was pleasantly surprised by this top! It was kind of a risky buy, but the risk paid off. It’s giving jeans and a cute top for summer, a date night top if I’ve ever seen one. It’s this nice, thick fabric with a very stretchy and bouncy feel. It runs big, however, which surprised me! I’m in the large and it’s loose overall. I am wearing a strapless bra with this one because of the funky criss-cross neckline. I think I’ll keep the large in this, but just know it’s a generous fit.

Short Sleeve Batwing Cardigan

Stop the presses — this top is under $15 right now! I think it was closer to $20 when I bought it, so that’s exciting for you! I like this top, but I think I’ll be swapping color and sizing. As far as feel, it’s a tightly knit fabric, stretchy and structured with buttons all the way down. Lightweight but sweater-ish, if that makes sense. However it is lightweight and will be just fine for summer heat. As far as fit, it does not fit as loose on me as it does on the model but you can size up! I’m in the large but I almost want it to be looser / wider fitting so I may swap for an XL. As far as color, I wimped out and went with a neutral and I’m kicking myself. I think I’ll swap for the lemon yellow! Find this top here!

PS: I’ve been loving this pair of Agolde shorts! I’m in the 30, as I am in all Agolde shorts so they fit TTS.

Qinsen Activewear Dress

I found a hidden gem: an activewear dress that can double as a date night dress! Like I did not expect this dress to be this cute, to be honest.  I am plan on packing it for trips this summer, it’s so comfortable and versatile. As far as feel, it’s a brushed knit, like most activewear is these days. Buttery soft with structure, it’s really well sewn and constructed to be honest. It is more fitted than expected but I am not uncomfortable. Even though the dress is fitted, it’s actually still true to size. I’m in the large and it fits well. The dress features built in shorts, but not a built in bra, which I’m fine with.  I’m wearing my normal bra with this right now. The dress comes in other colors as well, tempted by the navy and black because those could actually be mistaken as a date night dress!

Striped Beach Pants

This pair is going to be a swap and I’ll tell you why. The fit is just a bit short and a touch snug at the waist and is that what I want in a relaxed summer pant? NO! So what are we gonna do? We are gonna size up! I’m in the large and they fit fine BUT I’d prefer a longer length (I’m 5’9”) and a loose waistband. I like the option to move my waistband up or down, more high rise or more low slung on my hips.

This pair of pants is very soft, lightweight feeling almost like a linen. I was surprised this wasn’t a linen or cotton blend (they’re rayon). And just as a tip: to keep your rayon pieces soft, wash cold and hang to dry. Rayon breaks down in heat!

This pair of pants come in so many different patterns too! I like the striped, but there are lots of gingham options, too.

Barrel Pants

This is still my favorite pants right now! Still can’t believe they’re from Amazon 🤯 I’m in the large and they’re true to size for me! Slightly more fitted at waist, but that’s typical for me. Lightweight but with enough structure they don’t wrinkle! Highly recommend this pair of pants. Think activewear fabric, thicker with some stretch but they keep their structure.

As far as length goes, I had a lot of feedback on this pair and some questions as well. I am 5’9″ and yep, they barely hit at my ankles. I would love for them to be a few inches larger but you get what you get sometimes when you’re this height. One note: I would say if you’re above my height and mostly legs, this pair will probably be too short for you.

(And if you are looking for the original pair, it’s from a brand called Ruti! You can find and compare them here.)

Tank Top Swimsuit

Before we left for our waterpark trip, I found this very tummy friendly swim suit. And I believe it’s still under $40! It does run a bit big, I’m in the large and there is plenty of wiggle room in the top! The cups are a bit wonky so I took out the padding and it fit me better, but just know going in the padding is an awkward fit. Plus, I like that the bottoms go up higher than my belly button as well. If you’re a fan of super high rise, this set is your gal!

What I’m Swapping

Beach Pants | Sweater Top | Dress

I’m going to swap the pants for a bigger size and hopefully they’ll be longer, too! I think I’ll keep this brown / white stripe for summer, that’ll be the easiest to pair with neutral tops. I’m going to swap the top for a bigger size as well, I think I’d prefer this to fit more like it does on the model and I want to try it in yellow! And last, I’d love to swap this dress for a chocolate brown!
