If you stopped by the site over the weekend, you probably saw a very different site! We were supposed to launch this morning the new KE but sometimes life has different plans for us. So if you saw the new site, consider it an exclusive preview. We are hoping to switch over successfully today to the new site, but when you’ve been blogging for 6 years and have over 1500 posts sometimes you have to expect technical difficulties. Best laid plans, right? Sometimes you’ve got to roll with the punches, even the kind that keeps you up at night. Which is why I will be in large sunglasses over the next few days. Nothing you haven’t seen before.
So fingers crossed we get to break out the champagne this afternoon and christen a new site! If not, don’t worry — I always have champagne ready to be popped.
So you might recognize this pattern on my dress because you’ve seen it before in the last week. That’s right I have this pattern in this lovely top as well. This was unintentional you see. I didn’t expect to like both pieces when I bought them online. I was suppose to choose between top and dress. But they were both such good prices and I loved both, so here we are. I can tell that this is going to be a very floral spring.

  1. kendi, of course i love your style, but i miss the old days when you would post some more affordable pieces. givenchy and vince c are amazing, but sadly bank breakers for many people. 🙁

    1. I agree with Nina. I used to look forward to coming here everyday for fashion inspo & I knew I could count on you for affordable yet chic outfits… But unfortunately I can’t afford $2,000 Givenchy satchels, $300 Kate Spade heels or $1600 Chloe Marcie bags. I am so proud of your success and you’ve definitely earned the right to show off these pieces but unfortunately I feel like I just can’t relate to you anymore.

    2. I agree, too. I find myself going back to her older posts to find inspiration for things I’m a lot more likely able to afford.

    3. Totally agree – I’m so happy for your success, but nowadays the blog seems like a long advertisement for brands I can’t afford and/or don’t want to buy. These don’t seem like things you’d really buy, either (with your own hard earned cash – instead of company credit).

      1. I wonder if it’s because she makes commission on the items she posts that link back to a site. So she sees a larger $$ on it. Also, she’s super successful now, which is really wonderful, but I feel alienated as one of her early readers now that the brands she posts are pretty much unobtainable for me. However, it does make great inspiration for my lesser quality purchases ?

  2. I LOVE the new blog layout. It is such a classic update that highlights your current style. I love watching how you have evolved and this really shows that off.

  3. I LOVE this stylish weekend look! So chic and full of personality – your floral dress is everything.

  4. Hi Kendi,

I’ve noticed recently that you’ve been carrying more high-end designer bags. I was wondering how you decided on which designer bags to invest in, in terms of what isn’t too trendy and what not?
