My blogger bun today turned out to be more of a granny bun. A tiny, lopsided granny bun. Sometimes I think I've missed my calling as a hair stylist. Just think, I could be out there putting tiny, side buns on top of people's heads and getting paid for it. I guess it's never too late right?

Well it's happened. My husband and I have reached the pinnacle of our small town life. Last night we scrounged up $10 to eat at a hamburger place and called it date night. Of course I've always preferred french fries to fresh roses, so I'm not complaining. It was perfectly romantic. He even got me an extra packet of ketchup so that I wouldn't run out mid-meal. Swoon.

ketchup

(this picture was taken years ago, but I assure you the love remains strong)

But more than anything he makes me laugh. I know you guys have never heard my voice before (its really deep and throaty) or my laugh, so you can't fully appreciate the picture below. My laugh is super obnoxious, almost like a shrill. But a low shrill. Like a small bird with a cold who won't stop chirping outside your window.

People in movie theaters and libraries love me.

**Oh my little sillies. My voice isn't really that low, I was just being sarcastic. But my laugh is highly obnoxious.

  8. love the laughs, love the outfit... even the lopsided (though I can't tell) blogger bun. You look amazing! We had burgers for dinner last night too... I emailed my husband and let him know that him bringing burgers home for the family would make me endlessly happy. What a guy!

  10. question:
in your year of blogging, have you repeated an exact outfit & blogged about it (again)? because i've been trying to stay fresh with my outfits for a week and i've already run dry with ideas! and i found one outfit i liked so much and i can't imagine not wearing it again, as is...

  14. Angry Asian --

GREAT question. So yes and no. If I find an outfit that I LOVE, I usually do wear it again on a day that I don't take photos. (Outside of the 30 for 30 I only post about 3-4 outfits a week).

Or I'll just take a great outfit and re-imagine it! But I don't think that I've repeated too many outfits on the blog. Crazy to think about it that way.

Oh and I have NO problems with repeating an outfit. Like you said, if it's good, it's good and it needs to be re-worn.

  21. This is such a great outfit - I love how the pops of cognac brown stand out against the darker color palette!!

I too have an annoying laugh - I think people either love it or hate it - and its probably the people in movie theaters that hate it! I luckily still have friends that love it though :)

  35. This is weird, but can you put up a recording of your voice? haha. If that's too strange I get it. But now that you say your voice is low, I need a new voice in my head to match up with what I read.

  43. First, let me just say that I love the title of this post. Love in the Time of Cholera is one of my favourite books.
Secondly, you look a bit like Katie Holmes in the second photo.
Thirdly, I love this blazer you thrifted. And the bun looks perfect to me. I can never get my hair in a bun like that.

But we can add an entree or two to the date! This scarf is great...I would have bought it if I had stumbled upon it! Your outfit?...very cute!

  63. I'm with you on the voice thing. I posted a video tutorial not that long ago and felt so self conscious about the whole thing. I was almost afraid that the real me in action would somehow let down the picture me my readers are used to!

Loving the high bun. I wore my hair like that today as well!

  66. How is it that you always manage to be so picture perfect in all of your posts? These photos look like they walked right out of a magazine.

(sidenote: l was just trying to think of a clever magazine title that your pics would have been in, a la Vogue, and you know what popped in my head? Horse & Hound....have you seen Notting Hill!? Omg. I love that movie.)

Anyway. You look lovely as always. & I love that you prefer french fries to roses.

  67. Um...this is probably the sweetest blog post I've ever read. And I've read quite a bit. Reminds me sometimes of the way my husband and I live. The love is always the most important thing-good times and bad, right? This is so very sweet. And I love your outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  68. You are, of course, adorable. This outfit is, of course, incredible.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I love those last pictures of you laughing! Very cute. I also am a fan of the way you paired the blazer and the shirt underneath. It's flattering and fun without being stodgy.

    ReplyDelete
  70. You can totally pull off skinny jeans. The outfit is great, but I'm caught up in the fact that you look awesome in skinny jeans. All of my skinny jeans' sole purposes are to be hid behind fab boots.

Also, my fiance told me yesterday that I had a man laugh. I was not thrilled. He clarified, saying it was only that one laugh I was doing and it didn't usually sound that way. Didn't help. So, yeah... weird laughs. It's okay. :)

  76. I don't know why this lept (word, maybe?) to mind, but you look like Lauren Graham today. And your hubs kinda looks like Peter Krause.. and I love both of the guys. So there ya go.

(You have better style though, and I mean that so for real.)
