These pants are not pajamas. But on the other hand, these pants are not, not pajama pants, if you know what I mean. You see this fancy pajamas trend has been steadily creeping into our lives for the last few years and I’v been a fan since day one. Oh and let’s not forget pajama tops, too! Fancy pajamas tops that is, of course, although I am more partial to pants. First off, I am such a fan of anything elastic, drawstring, a real nothing-is-going-to-stop-me-now kind of a waistband. So these fall into that category, as they are a drawstring waist. Secondly, these are wide leg pants, so again nothing is touching me or getting in my way. Instead they are vibing on their own, these pants swish and sway as I move with the chicest drape to them. So sure, are they pajama adjacent? I suppose but I find them to be very chic and polished.

In fact, I felt so polished in them I needed to drag them down a little to my level. So I paired them with this Gap tee (my fave) and tossed a cardigan on for a little extra layering. Of course if you wanted to dress them up, an off white silky button down, a similar hued cashmere sweater, an oversized blazer. All are great options for this style of pants.

However, if you like the idea of the loose pant, but not a fan of patterns I think that J.Crew and Madewell have two great options. J.crew is the Cosmo Pant and Madewell is the Devon Pants. The Cosmo is a bit wider, a bit more tailored than the Devon. And of course, you can always go luxe with a silk pants option from Quince.
