Look, I’ll level with you. It’s warm out but it’s also September and sweaters are rolling into the stores faster than I can keep up with. So you know what, I’m gonna sweat for a few minutes to show you some cute sweaters this month. It’s the least I can do, you know? This sweater is top of my list (along with another one from Quince, but coming to the blog next week!). This is a new style from Quince, this is the roll neck sweater and it’s 100% cotton. A fine dupe for the J.Crew one. The only two differences are the sizing and the size of the roll neck. This one runs small in my opinion and the neckline is smaller. I am in the large and it’s quite fitted. This is not a negative, just different than the J.Crew fit I am used to. So J.Crew is a looser, wider fit and the Quince one is more tailored and slim line. It’s nice having options, you know? Either way this look is a big must for fall.
I have thought long and hard about it and cotton sweaters are for fall, cashmere sweaters are for winter. At least for me, that is. (Again it’s a billion degrees here so I am not qualified to talk sweaters right now.) But I’ve thought about it and I love cotton sweaters for fall, they lend a certain casualness that I feel on autumn encapsulates. Plus they are a great layering piece over tees, when the cool mornings wear off. Now for winter? I’m happily going with the Quince cashmere sweaters, but for now I like the breathability of the cotton ones.
