I do this every year. I talk about this every year. I think to myself, not this year…I’m not going to treat August like it’s fall. It’s still summer. But …I did a little. Just a little, though, with this outfit. This is me justifying but I’ve still got summer elements, you see — the lightweight linen, the lightweight pants. But is there just a hint of autumn in this look? There is. I promise to be better tomorrow, but today I’m a little bit August and a little bit autumn.

Don’t let the full lengths fool you, though, this look is light and airy. A nice linen will treat you right every time, even in the heat of August. This top is from Quince, it’s their European linen and it’s one of my favorite linen pieces. All of their linen is different, I should know I feel like I’ve tried it all. This top is a lighter weight feel with a softer bend to it. I find this linen to be a softer feel than say this linen dress, but it’s for the best because it doesn’t need as much structure as the dress does. What I like most about this top though is the weight of it. It’s not sheer at all and yet it’s still a nice lightweight to get us through summer. I am in the large for a looser relaxed fit, albeit it’s a generous fit overall.

Let’s take a moment of silence for these pants. This pants are out of stock in the navy. However, they’re full stock in a nice brown and honestly that was my second choice. (there were only two.) The navy felt more summer and I’m trying my best to stay in the moment. But the brown would be nice this fall. This is a lightweight, activewear-ish fabric with a wide elastic waistband and wide leg silhouette. The most comfortable pants, I swear. If you didn’t like the Amazon dupe of the Ruti but don’t want to spend $250+ on a pair of pants, this is a great alternative. I’m in the large but they fit loose!

Also, this is the white version of this pair of sneakers that I was raving about in NYC! The most comfortable sneaker, I swear.
