This is one of the pieces I ended up keeping from a recent Amazon try on. (Find the post here.) At this point in summer I find myself reaching for ease and this dress meets the criteria. You can’t get much easier than a maxi dress. I like that this one feels a bit more dressier than just a jersey maxi dress but not too dressy. I can still get away with flip flops or sandals. I wore this on a date night so I added in some gold hoops and a bangle, to give it some pizzazz.
The other reason I like maxi dresses during this part of summer is it hides the pms bloat better than a pair of shorts or anything else form fitting. I find summer clothes to be the tightest clothes of all the seasons and so this dress was a nice welcome last week. If you’re looking for a bloat-approved dress, I’ve got you. I will suggest nude underwear or a slip if you plan on posing in an alleyway with backlit sun. Speaking of underwear, because I know you’re going to ask, I am wearing a strapless bra as well with this neckline. The one I’ve sworn by for over 10 years is this one here. (Yep, it’s still the same one. Big Bra be damned with their 6-12 months replacement guidelines; I’m never replacing this one. She’s perfectly stretched out and still stays in place. Why would I give that up?) You can find my most recommend strapless bra here.
Does your brain turn to fall the second it turns August? Mine does because we used to start school in August so the back to school shopping signals fall but I know that’s not how seasons work. I’m trying hard to stay in the summer season but my brain longs for fall. What about you? When does ‘fall’ start for you in your head? Remember calendars aren’t welcome here, only vibes and incorrect mental connections.
