The Linen Set, Four Ways

This J.Crew set is on sale through today and I know I’m a bit late but I wanted to get this post up before the sale expired! I love a set lately, it is just so easy to throw on and so refined. This one is high quality linen and comes in a few colors as well. I think the shorts have more color options than the top, but I chose the black and this linen hue.

Obviously as a set is first, because duh. Like no brainer outfit right here. I feel pulled together, which is wild because these have a wide elastic waist. This outfit can work for so many occasions and if you need a little extra layer an oversized cardigan, a sweater over the shirt, a denim jacket with the neck popped, all of these would layer beautifully.

The top fits way more fitted than the bottoms, so size up for boobs. I am in the 10 and could maybe even get the 12 for extra button room.

I am in the medium of the shorts, they run a bit generously.

As a swim suit coverup! I find this to be so vacation coded — because I love packing things that can work dually in my suitcase. Dresses are a great resource for using as a coverup the next day after you’ve worn it to dinner. The same goes for this set. Re-use it as a cover up. I like to leave the top unbuttoned for a more casual nod.

Layered over a tank, using the top like a light jacket is also a casual take on a very pulled together look. This is also a nice way to wear it in the summer if you need to cool off for a bit in just the tank.

As separates, of course! I wanted to show this in the two ways I’ve worn it — the shirt alone with shorts and then the shorts alone with a neutral sweater. But of course sky is the limit, here.
