Well color me 2008 because J.Crew is bringing back bubble hems this summer. I won’t lie — my spirit and soul has been broken by all of the Y2k, 90s trends coming back for the younger generations who wear them now about as well as we did. (Shade implied) But trends of 2008? I can totally get behind the late 2000s into the 2010s trends coming back around. Some of my best work was back then, you guys. The colored skinny jeans, the bubble necklaces, the top knots, the peplums! In fact, I’m just waiting for the bubble necklace to come back because then I know for sure the end is coming soon. I’m not a doomsday-er, but when you see resurgence of the bubble necklace, you’ll know the end times are a-coming.
This dress is so adorable I wish I was wearing it right now. I need some adorableness this Monday morning because I chose drab today. (Wearing boring black pants and a brown tank if you were wondering, but should be wearing a peppy bubble hem dress! I need the energy.) This dress is very easy to wear as well, poplin cotton, fits like a dream and it’s not too short OR too poofy. And since my auto-correct changed ‘poofy’ to ‘goofy’ twice, I will confirm the dress is NOT goofy as well. I felt chic, classic and just the right amount of quirky. I am in the 8, it runs a bit snug on the chest but other than that TTS. Find it from J.Crew here!
