If you’re thinking I’m gonna say it’s THE SKORT you’d be 100% right. I am 100% here for the skort this season. Where did this trend come from? (Besides the tennis courts, of course.) I have no idea but she’s here, uninvited yet fully dressed, and she is NOT leaving, ok?
So why do I love this trend? A) I love feeling some semblance of an athlete and the yoga pants aren’t cutting it anymore plus baseball jerseys look drab on me. B) I love a good trend but it’s the comfort for me. Especially this pair from Zella, you see underneath this skirt is actually a pair of buttery soft biker leggings that do not under any circumstance hug your thighs too tight. They are comfortable, stretchy and did I mention comfortable? Plus I love wearing athletic wear that could also double as an outfit, too.
I picked this skirt up from Nordstrom’s in-house line Zella. One of my favorites to shop as it’s high quality, last forever and the fit is consistent so I always know I can buy online and wear it as soon as I get it! Plus Nordstrom has free returns so it’s easy to find your perfect size. (For reference, I’m always always always a medium in Zella! It’s one of the most consistent brands for me.) Specifically though I love this blue color, it feels like an autumn blue if there is such a thing. Of course if the color isn’t for you, there are plenty of other options here — including black. My other go-to, as you very well know.
(Also this skirt fits way better than any other skort I’ve tried. The legs aren’t compression or too tight and that’s so nice and it’s not as hot as you’re wearing it all day.)
I found this super soft ribbed tank that matches so I of course wanted to pair it with this skirt. I can’t say it’s an original thought because the model is literally wearing this outfit. So thank YOU Nordstrom from doing my job for me. 😉 I’m in the medium of the tank, fit is TTS! Find this tank under $40 here.
The second thing I’m obsessed with? The hoodie. It’s about to be hoodie szn and I for one can not wait. This one is Zella, as well, and is a really nice weight and quality for fall / winter. It’s not too hot which is nice for us down in the south. You can find it here! (Rumor has it, it’s one of their best sellers and I can see why.)
What are your thoughts on the skort? love it or leave it?
