These photos were from our trip to Charleston a few weeks ago. We shot these the first night we were there… and then I completely forgot about them. Which makes me wonder if I’ve done this before? I can’t remember, so probably yes. But I couldn’t let this outfit go to waste as I remembered we shot these when I pulled this skirt out last week to wear again. (That time with a simple white blouse.) I don’t frequent Anthropologie too often this days but when I do I always walk away with a jewel. This skirt for example is exactly what I like in a skirt — full, happy, floral, plays well with stripes. I couldn’t ask for more.
Because I’ve been doing it for so long that sometimes I forget that florals and stripes could be combined with other prints. It’s one of my favorite go-to combinations so my first thought when I see floral anything is ‘would this work with stripes?‘ always followed by an enthusiastic yes. This skirt was the perfect complement to this striped sweater from Club Monaco. It was just a bit too short for my white jeans but works perfectly with a high waisted skirt. Who am I to argue with that?
We are headed to Portland, Maine this week, one of my favorite cities in the states. I haven’t been there since college and B has yet to visit, so it will feel brand new again.
