Have you seen this tied up sweater or knit top trend? I absolutely love it. We have a few tops in the shop that feature this trend but this top might be my favorite. As it turns out, you can wear this top as a cardigan or as a knotted top like I’m wearing here. I didn’t realize you could wear it as a cardigan until Bryan was checking in these tops in the shop and he kept calling it a cardigan. I started looking at it and thought, ‘well he isn’t wrong.’ So I call this a double duty style — somedays a tied top and others a lightweight cardigan. Win-win.

You can find this top in three colors here!

Do you ever have something that you bought maybe a few years ago and at the time it wasn’t your favorite but you kept it around? That is this hat. (Find a similar one here!) I rediscovered this hat in my closet and now I want to wear it with everything. I remember getting it on final sale at Club Monaco maybe two seasons ago,  and I liked it but it wasn’t my favorite at the time. Well, I’m giving myself a high five because it’s this seasons favorite. The good news is I think Club Monaco was ahead of the trend because there are a few for sale right now!

This Gap one looks EXACTLY the same! And Club Monaco still has the Millenie Hat for sale but in a few other colors.  (You can find this style hat in blush at Shopbop.) And yes this is me trying to convince you to jump on the blush hat trend with me 😉

Fit Details

Top fits true to size, but is a generous fit! You might need a camisole for more coverage, but it’s preference. I’m not wearing a camisole, but it’s slightly sheer. Jeans I sized up one, I’m usually a 29 and I’m in the 30 here. Booties fit true! Hat is old Club Monaco but I’ve found similar!

Each month I create monthly capsules out of my favorite pieces, perfectly curated for each month.

  1. That’s such a cute hat! I love the fit and the colour is adorable. That type of sweater isn’t really my favourite but I think you pulled it off really well.

  2. WAIT SO DOES THAT MEAN that I can try out the low knot style on cardigans that I already own? This trend looks so cute on you but I just can’t picture it looking attractive on me (and I’m at a stage in motherhood where there is no trying on clothes in stores or even making it back to return…so I need to have a solid trust in a style before ordering online!).

    1. Baha I think you can!!! Try it let me know 😉 Are you in that first year of post-partum? I found it SO hard to find clothes that the first year. My body changed in stages so it was like constantly like wait what fits now??

      1. I tried with a cardigan that I already own – no dice. I think they have to be lightweight with some good drape to have the knot look intentional – I’ll give it another shot when I can!

I have a 6.5 year old and a 4 year old and they are not very good at shopping unless it’s at a toy store! You’re so right, that first year after baby is a wild ride. I got back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I have a long torso with a high waist. Even pre-kids, styles with waist action were hit or miss for me – and things definitely changed!
