This dress throws out all of my theories. I’ve been avoiding any type of dress with a specific waistline during my pregnancy. I’ve tried a few and they didn’t work so I tossed them all out as options. But sometimes I’m a glutton for punishment and I loved the print of this dress so I decided to try it out. I’ve become very okay with things not fitting these days. It used to freak me out and now I’m like ‘excuse me? do you have this in a larger stomach size?’ Well low and behold, this dress fit. It was a miracle from Kate Spade heaven, you guys. I think the key is that the waist line is a bit more empire instead of where my natural waist usually is. Or at least that’s how I’m wearing it. So now I’m on the hunt for more higher waistline dresses. I’ll let you know if I find more. I would never hold out on you like that.

This weekend I was at a conference for influencers and bloggers and while typically I’m 100% ready with what to wear, I was kind of in a blah mood and just went with a few things I loved and knew would be comfortable. (One day  of the conference, I wore some fierce heels and made it 5 hours. I was really proud of myself. It should also be noted that the next day I wore sneaks.) I had actually picked this dress and outfit out for this past weekend but for some reason I decided to not even try it out. (I told you, I was very blah.) When I put it on this morning I was kicking myself for not wearing this outfit this weekend. Sometimes you’ve got to go with your first instincts. Plus this dress brightened my Monday blues today. It also makes me want to book a vacation to Greece ASAP. But we’ve got some other summer plans, so that is going to have to wait until next summer. 😉

Oh and good news! These shoes have been re-stocked!! They were almost sold out in all sizes a few weeks ago and now in full stock! These shoes were everywhere this weekend. Best wedges ever.

Fit Details

I sized up in this dress, so it’s hard to tell if it is true to size. It seems like the chest is a bit more tight than other Kate Spade dresses, so if you are chest blessed perhaps try one size up! If not, stay true to size. 🙂 You can find the dress here: Kate Spade Poplin Sundress

  1. That is a beautiful dress, and I really like it with the denim jacket 🙂

I wore so many empire waist dresses over my pregnancies, mainly maxi dresses. They are perfect with a growing bump!

Hope you are having a great start to the week and had a nice weekend 🙂

  2. I didn’t realize that Kate Spade made dresses too. I LOVE that dress!!

Thank you for breaking the mold for “pregnant lady” dressing. You look AMAZING!!!

    happy thrifting 😉

  3. The dress is cute and the print beautiful too, I can see why you did not pass it up. Plus the addition of the brown belt adds a nice touch. Blue and brown look so good together. Major thumbs up for rocking heels for 5 hours and doing that while pregnant, your my idol.
