Ever since becoming a homeowner, I’ve suddenly wanted to host things at my house. This has never been true starting with sleepovers when I was just a kid, as a lesson I learned early on that it was always easier to be a part of the party instead of throwing the party. But with our house getting set up, I find myself wanting to host holidays and get-togethers. Who knew this side of me would ever come out? Maybe there is a Martha in there somewhere.
Since yesterday was all about moms, I hosted my family’s Mother’s Day brunch on our patio. It was slightly stressful and about ten minutes behind schedule but we pulled it off perfectly. Things I’ve learned: wake up earlier when hosting and maybe go to the grocery store the day before instead of two hours before. Will I remember these lessons in the future? No. Procrastinators never quit.
I wore this pretty dress for brunch because I knew it would be easy to cook and eat in. It’s the prettiest shade of blush pink, in fact it’s almost a neutral it’s such a light pink hue. And it turned out to be perfect for a Sunday brunch. At 40% off, it’s basically perfect. If only every day could have blush dresses and brunches, right?
