Each spring I’m reminded of the sarcastic line in Devil Wears Prada when Anna Wintour-esque editor Miranda Priestly says “Florals? for spring? Groundbreaking.” when presented with new ideas for the spring issue. I think of this every time I gravitate towards florals…for spring because I just can’t help it.

Spring prints and colors are just so happy and flowery and well, for lack of a better term, springy. So florals for spring it is for this girl. (I mean for goodness sake I named my store ‘bloom.’ I think it’s safe to say that I love florals. It’s also safe to say that I’m much better with printed flower arranging than with real flower arranging.)

I love this print so much I had a hard time picking between this skirt, the pants and the top. Heck, if J.Crew made a sofa in this fabric I’d probably buy it. Of course I’d have to mortgage the house I don’t own but I’d find a way.

Can you believe this sweatshirt from Old Navy? I know, I know…take a second to collect yourself. I was literally on my way out of the store when I spotted this gem and went right back to the check-out, sweatshirt in hand. No shame in the game, not when it comes to cute shirts.

  1. HI, Kendi, you look so sexy in this outfit, I love when women dress like that, very feminine, elegant and chic, the skirt is very beautiful, can also go beautifully with denim shirt, what do you think? Have a great week!

  7. Hah, I always think of that line, too! Similar to how, when I'm stuck behind a slow walker, I always think, "By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me."

  8. I really love the shape of this outfit – all the different pieces work together really well. Your skirt is gorgeous, and I really like that bag. So perfect for spring!

  9. Love the mix of high and low brands here! And it goes without saying that the skirt would also look fab with a striped top! 🙂

  10. This whole outfit is perfect. The floral skirt, the pointy wedge heels (btw I need those), the perforated sweater, and light blue kate spade purse. Seriously in love. It is amazing how many trends you were able to mix into one outfit without it looking overboard. I might have to use this as an inpiration. Thank you xo -ellese http://rockpaperglam.com/

  11. I discovered that sweatshirt at the last second at Old Navy too! I got the navy.

  12. I have just realized who you remind me of! Michelle Dockery (A.K.A. Lady Mary from Downton Abbey). I just finished watching the finale–so clearly I am an expert. 🙂 You are her with a springy, floral twist that I am certain even Anna Wintour would approve.

  13. LOL I do remember that line from the movie. But hey, I think that skirt is just absolutely perfect for spring, so cliche or not, I say yay for florals!
