So usually with try ons or hauls, I have always taken the perspective that I am showing you a possibility of what an outfit could look like on you or on my body type, etc or give you a quick snapshot review of fit, quality or even if something is worth buying, etc because sometimes you just don’t know when shopping online. You don’t know until someone says ‘hey — this is good!’ And I’ve loved doing this, but I don’t know if it’s my favorite way to create content now. However I am still very into shopping (old habits die screaming) and so whenever I find some things I want to share them with you! But also in a new way, I also want to be transparent about what I am keeping or returning. I picked up a few things for a paid story I did on instagram for Nordstrom (however this post isn’t sponsored or gifted though) and I really like a few things, so here we go! Listed in order of if I am going to keep it or not, but feel free to weigh in on this decision.

summer blouse + not so denim shorts

treasure & bond blouse | rag & bone shorts | reformation slingback sandalsĀ

Keeping this whole outfit which is why it’s first! Let’s talk about the top first because I have a feeling you would like that better than the shorts, but we will get to that later. This is one of those easy breezy tops that I’ve been missing in my closet. It’s loose and lightweight, so the flow is there. I need the flow with a top, it’s imperative. So I am in the large and this size is perfectly generous on me, so I think it may run a bit big.

You can find it here.

Okay so these shorts are actually sweatpants material and the ‘denim’ you see? It’s printed on. Lol I know I know. It’s maybe one of the weirder things I’ve bought but I love them, I think. Im gonna give them a real life wear and report back. but they are so comfortable. You truly can’t tell they’re printed until you get close to me and look look. Is this the 2024 version of leggings??

striped shorts set

nordstrom olive poplin shirt | nordstrom olive poplin shorts | reformation slingback sandals

I really love this set. The poplin is RICH lady thick. When I imagine a Richie, it’s in this kind of poplin. It has a touch of sheen and a lot of structure. So the top fits perfectly in the large for me, a nice looser fit but spot on for an 8/10 with boobs. The shorts are a different story. They run very big in the waist and are really really long. I was disappointed in the this because I wanted to love the set from the get-go. I decided to improvise and see if rolling the shorts helped and…I actually prefer the rolled look. I would size down to a medium for me and would suggest a size down for anyone as well. I would also highly suggest rolling them for a more tailored look, if you don’t mind showing a little leg.

free people eyelet top

free people eyelet top | ag ex-boyfriend jeans | Madewell sandals

This top is a bit of a cheat coming in at $108 instead of under $100. So forgive me for that. I do find that’s the way Free People rolls, as they’re always about 30% more expensive than you wish they were. But on the other hand, Free People is for keeps with me. I have tops from summers and springs back that have lasted and lasted.

This top is opaque, but lightweight for summer. Coming in slightly cropped as well, I’m in the large which gives me more length. I don’t necessarily need it to be wider, but that comes with a size up so expect a loose, boho fit. Find this top here!

easy floral blouse

floral Caslon top | ag ex-boyfriend jeans | madewell sandals

This top is adorable and hits all the spring notes. Floral, colorful, easy to wear and pair with jeans or shorts for later in the season. I would say this is a classic top, just easy to wear for everyday (work, weekend, etc.) I am in the large and you don’t necessarily have to size up. It’s a looser fit, so if you are in between sizes and you want a looser fit, go up a size. If not, true to size will still give you a nice relaxed feel.

ASTR gauzy top | AG ex-boyfriend jeans | reformation sandals

This top…I’ve given in a few days and I do think she’s a return. I love her and I love the fit but the crop is a bit much for me. I actually love the fabric the most — it’s an airy gauzy that I feel like I could get a lot of use out this summer when it turns into a pizza oven outside. If I change my mind, I’ll let you know by way of outfit photos of course.

I am in the large and highly recommend sizing up if you need length! Otherwise the sleeves are a looser fit as is the bodice. Unlined and ever-so-slightly sheer, so a nude bra is suggested.
