I’ve picked up a few dresses lately and I thought you too might need some dress recommendations for this summer. We are traveling to anywhere tropical or coastal this summer (just the city for us!) but if you are, I’ve got a few recommendations in this post. And if you do go on an all-inclusive, pour one out for your girl, ok?

This is the loveliest dress, I put it on and the collar was automatically popped and I just felt RICH. The big earrings, the white leather accessories, they were like moths to this dress’s flame. I absolutely love this one.
What I like about this one for summer is the lightweight fabric. It has slight stretch and bend to it, which is really nice to keep the structure of the dress. (And the collar DID stay up!) I find that size large fits me best in this Tobie style because of my bigger boobs. When all else fails, size up.
(Oh and just ignore the buttons on the midsection of dress, it’s the way I was standing. I went back and tried it on to make sure I’m telling you right on sizing and it fits just fine when I’m standing up tall. Just don’t stand like a goblin and you’ll be alright.)

Is it possible to miss something you’ve never owned? Because I rented this dress back in April and I’m still thinking about her. I may just have to give her another go this summer. I loved this dress and wanted to include it for summer because it has the exact right summer length and vibe. If you like a summery dress but WITH sleeves, this is a great option. Plus these dresses usually have ppropriate lengths and I am appreciating that lately. I used to throw caution to the wind (literally) when it came to dress / skirt / shorts length but now I’m hyper aware of something being too short. This dress’s length felt very appropriate and easy to wear.
If you like an easy day dress WITH sleeves, this is your go to gal. I also love the white option, too.
Linen Fit & Flare Dress | Quince
Good for: the 4th of July, everyday dress, vacation dress
I’m a big fan of Quince linen, as you already know, but this dress is at the top of my list. The linen on this one is thicker and really soft. The fabrication feels different than some of their other linen pieces. I also love the tea length on this one, it makes for an easy casual vibe, so you can pair it with flats, sneakers or heels. Now this dress comes in all colors, neutrals, patterns, but I love this bright red for summer. Specifically July 4th this year. This dress at a parade on a hot day? I mean come on! If you’re gonna sweat, at least sweat in celebratory linen, you know?
I have the large in this dress and for my bust, this is the right size. Typically in Quince, I can go medium in dresses but this one runs true with a more tailored bust.

Tropical Porcelain Maxi Dress | Farm Rio
Good for: summer events, outdoor weddings, date night
Remember when I said I’d sworn off Farm Rio dresses…well I take it back. I absolutely love this one. It’s bright and lightweight with the prettiest garden print. For me, sometimes Farm Rio prints can feel overwhelming and one note at the same time. This print feels timelessly spring and summer. You can’t go wrong with a wallpaper floral print in my opinion! I also love the little ruffle sleeve, it’s a nice touch that you don’t see too often. I am in the large, it runs true to size. This one is a touch generous but in a comfy way.
This dress would be great to pack for a summer vacation! I can see this as a dinner dress on a beach vacation, or perhaps visiting a coastal town. It’s cotton so it’ll roll up and unpack nicely, too.

I was recently gifted a few dresses from Maggy London and this was one of them. Honestly, it’s not a dress I would have picked out for myself…but sometimes that’s the best! I went out on a limb and I’m so glad because what a fun dress! Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way to find new exciting pieces. Now I do wish that I had a Mexican vacation planned but sadly I do not, but if I did…this dress would be night one. It’s a silky feel and it’s lightweight, but not sheer. It would pack so easily, too! This dress deserves a hot vacation, but it’ll probably just get a hot Texas patio.
I am in the large and it fits great without any tightness. It’s a pull over fit, no zippers or buttons which leans into the very summery, casual feel. You could easily double this as a cover up as well.

Brent Shift Spaghetti Strap Maxi Dress | The Good Journey

Okay this was the other dress that surprised me in the very best way! I’ve truly been leaning on my neutrals or perhaps a solid color every once in a while when it comes to dresses. Choosing a colorful patterned dress was right out of left field for me. The dress itself is a silky, lightweight fabric with a touch of a sheen to it. It’s a spaghetti strap dress, so a strapless bra is required (or a bandeau!) and it’s a loose fit overall. If I say ‘tent fit’ do you know what I mean? It’s a perfect summer dress, easy to wear and toss on and feel amazing instantly.
I’m in the large and it runs a bit big and loose around the bust. If you don’t need extra room up top, you could size down. Now this one I can definitely wear around town this summer, no vacation needed.

Calvin Mini Sheath Dress | The Good Journey
Good for: brunch, dressy day events, wine tasting
Look at this darling little dress! It’s another one that is definitely outside of my comfort zone and yet, I love it. Of course it’s in my go-to neutrals, but the design on this dress is a nice surprise for me. This one fits a bit closer all over, tailored fit but true to size. There is no stretch, but it does run true to size!

Good for: everyday, vacation, beach / pool
You’ve seen this little cotton J.Crew dress a few times, but she’s still a summer favorite. I love a simple white dress, I find them to be such a nice base for most outfits. And this dress is now on sale! I’m in the medium and it runs true to size, slightly short if I’m being honest. I’ve found myself missing this dress when it’s in the laundry, which is how you know it’s a good one. It’s slightly sheer if you wear darker underwear, so keep that in mind. I’ve also doubled this dress as a swimsuit cover up to the pool! It’s 100% cotton, so it washes and steams out beautifully.
