I’m feeling giddy about this outfit today. I’m wearing some new to me things and I don’t know what to talk about first because I love all of these pieces so much. Just so that I don’t play favorites I’ll start with the top and work my way down to the jeans.
Say Hi: The Shaily Eyelet Top
Listen, I realized a few years ago that I needed to calm myself down when it came to white blouses. And so I have, truly. I’ve sold some and more importantly, I’ve stopped buying so damn many. Here’s the thing: I absolutely love a white top. I find them so classic and so easy to pair with denim, which is 50% of my wardrobe anyways. I found this one from Sezane and it’s absolutely perfect. The puff sleeves aren’t too puffy (or too tight), it’s a nice length to tuck or wear out and while it is eyelet, it still covers everything. I think it runs a touch generously, I’m in the 10 and could have size down to an 8.
Spanx Lightweight Jeans
I swear to God I’ve been looking for this pair of jeans since 2003. Well not this exact pair, you see I had a pair of super soft jeans like this that I got at an outlet mall that summer. I’ve thought about them ever since because who knows where they ended up. I have since given up on finding such jeans over the years. Until I put this pair on and it was a wave of nostalgia. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for, dare I say for 20 years? That seems dramatic so yes let’s say that.
This pair is from Spanx and it fits a bit loose / large. I went with the large and I love the length but by the end of the day they were running a bit loose. I’d suggest a size down if in between sizes. They’re soft and lightweight and so comfortable. 10 out of 10 for these.
The Summer Bag
I’ve had my eyes on this bag from J.Crew and finally got my hands on it! I love a raffia / woven tote in the spring / summer. I love the casualness, the ease of it all. I swear this and my Clare V crossbody will be my most worn bags this summer. But what I love the most about this one is the size! I love that it’s big and oversized, it’s a statement in and of itself.
