There are dresses you buy for a specific occasion (and if you’re anything like me, forget to wear them) and then there are the dresses that become a part of your everyday uniform. This chambray dress is firmly in that second category, and right now it’s on sale!

I love this shape of dress because it’s flattering and flowy without feeling self conscience. And the gathered, smocking at the chest / waist makes it incredibly comfortable to wear all day. Plus this chambray fabric is soft but keeps its structure, as the  skirt falls into a full, flowing midi length with enough volume to feel romantic and easy, but not so much that it overwhelms! (Now I’m 5’9″ and so if you’re petite, it might be a bit long for you!) I am in the large, it’s a true to size fit for me!

Since navy is my favorite neutral for spring, this dress makes a compelling case that one great piece can carry an entire season. I’m planning on bringing it through the summer + fall, too! I think for summer just some simple sandals or mesh flats will be my go-to. And with it currently on sale at Madewell, this is a genuinely easy decision for an easy spring and summer dress. You’ll reach for it more than you think.

PS: My bag is borrowed! I have my thoughts and feelings about buying new designer bags but borrowing? I feel great about. I did a sponsored post on IG for the brand Vivrelle and so I get to borrow a bag for the next three months! If you like designer bags but don’t want to commit, it’s a fun membership. I like that I can turn around and give it back, no strings attached. For us fickle types, it’s a nice perk. Anyways, you can get a month free with code KENDISKEEN so that’s cool. If you’re a luxury handbag kind of gal, check it out here.
