Sixteen years of writing about style has taught me one thing: the most chic pieces are almost always the simplest ones. Enter the Gap Easy Pants that somehow I just discovered. Essentially these are a wide leg trouser but with a drawstring waist, no buttons, no pleats. They look very chic dressed up, dressed down, and everything in between. But today I styled them dressed up! ‘Dressed down’ and ‘everything in between’ coming soon to a WIWLW-ish near you.
The only sizing issue on these is the length. I sized up to a large for extra length (I bought them in-store and tried the mediums on as well. They were just a touch too short for me.) However the large is quite loose at the hips / waist. So I *may* return for a medium tall length, but that just depends on if I’m feeling like making the return. Sometimes my laziness gets the best of me, you feel? Overall they are a generous fit, size up for length or go with the different lengths offered.
Did you know that I don’t typically buy two of the same item…like ever? I’m not sure why this is but I treat this as a silent rule that I always uphold. And it’s not like this is a minimalist rule because I am no minimalist. Since I couldn’t find where this rule came from, I decided to break it on this cardigan. You see, this cardigan waltzed into my life back in 2024 as a size medium and in the color black and I’ve loved it since. Lately I’ve been wanting a navy cardigan in a looser fit. I looked and looked but kept coming back to this Quince one. As this was the only cardigan I found that checked all of my boxes: color, fit, price. It’s under $100 and I knew that it held up, so I ordered and never looked back. It’s a solid cardigan, 100% cashmere and the perfect fit.
I wanted a relaxed look versus how the medium fits more tailored so I went with the large. I would tell you, my friend, that this cardigan fits true to size. But as with all cashmere, once you wash it, no matter how delicate there is a chance of shrinkage. This large is slightly loose on me but with one wash, it’ll fit a bit more tailored.
