So let me take you on a small journey. I had been eyeing this skirt last year and I found it on Quince. (The website that is basically a direct to you from the factory model so they keep their costs low, pass on the savings to you, etc.) If you haven’t check it out, do! It reminds me of Everlane but I like the styling a bit better and the prices are really quite good.

I found this skirt and some other things last summer / fall and filled my cart. Then I saw the delivery times were a lot longer than I wanted so I walked away. Quince reached out to me this past month to do a collaboration (this isn’t it! It’s on Instagram) and a part of that agreement is that I get to try a few styles out. I immediately requested this skirt because it’s been on my mind for well over 12 months. But as I was looking through the site, I realized that the shipping times have shortened by a lot and everything I had selected shipped within a typical retail timeline. This thrilled me because I hadn’t really checked back after this, thinking “oh well you’ve gotta plan in advance to shop there.” This is simply not true. So now when you go to their site it has a green notification if your item is in stock and ready to ship! I got these pieces in about a week and a half I believe, maybe a few days more but it was within the timeline they said.

Okay once again was not paid for that up there because it would have been better written lol but I wanted to start at the beginning of my relationship with them. I wanted to try them but I am, at best, impatient as a consumer. Now that that has been updated, I am thrilled because their prices really are unmatched. So let me get to this skirt before this is starting to look like a recipe blog post, sharing too many personal details.

100% Washable Silk Mini Skirt

This skirt was worth the wait of a year — and I don’t mean shipping times. 😉 I love this skirt so much I want it in black as well. It is a great staple and the quality is so nice. It steamed out like a dream; the fabric has a beautiful sheen to it that almost gives it an iridescent detail to it. It is unlined but it doesn’t need a liner or slip. The waistband is elastic with the fabric sewn into it so it didn’t flip around or twist while wearing it. I really like the length as well, especially for a ‘mini’ as it’s not too short but still a really flattering length. I wore it more as a high waist skirt and it fit comfortably around my waist / hips. I got the large and it fits spot on. I’m in between medium and large right now, so a size up was right which makes me think it runs just slightly snug at the hips / waist. In this size, it is perfectly relaxed and comfortable to wear.

This skirt is around $50 and well worth it! It comes in other colors, but check the shipping times of each size and color as they can change. (PS: here is the maxi skirt version as well!)

Mongolian Cashmere Cardigan Sweater

Would you believe that I do not have a classic black cardigan in my possession? Well I didn’t...but now I do and you’re looking at her. What a true classic beauty. Plus you know I love a cardigan, always have, always will. This one fits exactly as you would expect and with no tugging or pulling at the buttons. Fit is TTS, this is the medium however it does look a bit more relaxed on the model so perhaps a large would have fit like that on me? Because it is cashmere, it does run a bit snug and I always find they shrink a tiny bit after cleaning. So now I’m thinking maybe I should have gone up a size, so let’s just say it like this — if in between sizes, go up one. This one was most fitted at the arms.

I will say this one is very warm and slightly itchy. I hate to bring up the itch factor but it’s a touch itchy. Wool is just going to wool. With that said, it is so soft and easy to wear. I really like this one and I love it in the black, it looks rich, feels rich. You can find this sweater — under $100 — here!

Italian Leather Glove Ballet Flat

Not to keep comparing to Everlane, because I like them too, but this shoe reminds me a lot of the Day Glove…but better. It’s a lot more comfortable, immediately they were easy to wear and break in. The top of the shoe doesn’t dig in or rub. I also love the smallest heel on the supportive sole, it gives the shoes a bit of a bounce. These would absolutely work all day or for a walking commute. I think I would prefer a darker color moving into fall, but a light shoe is always welcome around here. I’ve very intrigued by their entire leather shoe collection. If I end up buying a different pair as well, I’ll be sure to review it here!

As far as fit goes, I’m a 10 regular width and these fit perfectly in the 10. True to size fit for this girl!

  1. I’ve been wanting to try them out for a long time, just haven’t yet! One of my friends has a few pieces from quince though and every time she wears them i ask where they’re from because they fit so well. She did say they’re disappointingly not as ethical as they claim, but i haven’t dug further into that bit…

    1. Interesting, I typically do take things at face value so it’s a good reminder to look into things a bit more as well!

  2. “Thanks for the quick review of Quince! It’s helpful to get a concise overview of what the brand offers. Your insights on the quality and features of their products are valuable. Do you have any standout recommendations or favorite items from Quince that you think are worth checking out?”

  3. I have ten of the $50 sweaters and i love them! I wear them in the cool into cold weather and they are pretty much worn daily once winter is here. I have tried about everything for staying warm when I go to clean stalls without extra weight. Man made fabrics just don’t Keep you as warm and snug. A quince cashmere sweater with a light weight flannel works even better than when I tried felting my irish wool sweaters did! They wash up great, woolite, cold water and air dry. I have some that are going on four or five years of heavy wear and other than a couple of sweaters i wear tucked in with a large belt buckle have gotten some small holes in the bottom but considering how much they are worn and for how long I don’t care. Crazy as it sounds, quince cashmere has become my absolute go to! I will pick up four or five in new colors this fall, I can walk out of the barn and go to town and still look good. Love Quince!!!
