I like watching trends to see how long they’ll last. Some trends I know are over before they even set, but overall I feel like I’ve got a good handle on what’s going to stick around for longer than a year or two. If I think that it will last longer than a year, it’s a go for me. A trend I’ve been watching for a while now has been color trends. I think that after the beige renaissance of the year 2020 we are all looking for a little color to add back in. If you are anything like me, I hesitate adding too much color at once. This is probably scar tissue from those damn colored jeans or maybe I’m just boring now, but either way I am very cautious around color.
Back in 2023, I saw the light butter yellow trend coming on and in 2024 it really took off with retailers. We were seeing butter yellow everywhere. Weird hue to be honest, but I get it. It’s easy to wear and easy to pair with all of our neutrals. It works well with cream, grey, denim. Plus it’s subtle, like dipping a toe back into the pastel pool. Also I’ve never had ‘my colors’ done because I don’t want anyone to tell me what I can and can’t wear, but I do think that this color works well with darker hair. So perhaps I’m biased but I think it’s such a pretty color for spring and it’s a trend every one can wear.
This cardigan is a beautiful buttery hue, not too sweet or twee. I think the heavy texture helps that, too. This one is Alex Mill but I’ve found other options below as well. I also really love this option from Sezane, too.
Oh and this bag is borrowed, by the way. I have my thoughts and feelings about buying new designer bags but borrowing? I feel great about. I did a sponsored post on IG for the brand Vivrelle and so I get to borrow a bag for the next three months! If you like designer bags but don’t want to commit, it’s a fun membership. I like that I can turn around and give it back, no strings attached. For us fickle types, it’s a nice perk. Anyways, you can get a month free with code KENDISKEEN so that’s cool. If you’re a luxury handbag kind of gal, check it out here.
