There’s something about a neutral outfit with contrast that just works—and this one has officially earned repeat status in my closet. The ivory paired with rich chocolate brown feels timeless but still modern. This entire look is from Quince, from their collection styled by celebrity stylist Erin Walsh, which makes sense because every piece feels thoughtful, elevated, and wearable in real life.

The white coat is the anchor here. It instantly lightens the look and adds structure, especially layered over deeper tones. I love how it softens the richness of the chocolate brown underneath without feeling stark or too high-contrast. This is the kind of coat that makes everything else in your closet look more expensive—jeans, knits, trousers, all of it. You can find it here!

I love a matchy-matchy moment. But the matching chocolate brown sweater and trousers are what really sold me. The tone-on-tone base creates an easy column of color, which always feels chic and a little elongating. Brown is having a moment, but this shade feels classic enough that it won’t feel dated next season. I wanted to add in a bit more black so I went with these black boots, a black bag, minimal jewelry—because the neutrals do all the work here. This is the kind of outfit that works for errands, meetings, travel days, or dinner plans, depending on how you style it. Swap the boots for loafers or sneakers and it shifts instantly.

By the way, if you walk a lot / commute, these are the softest, most comfortable boots I’ve ever put on. They fit snug, so keep that in mind but they’re incredibly comfortable. I’m 50/50 on shoes from Quince, but these are amazing. Find them here.

Fit Details

I am in the 10×30 pants, but would suggest a size up in waist and length if you find yourself needing extra waist room. I’m in the medium of the sweater and coat! Both TTS!
