Fall always feels like a fresh start for my closet, how about you? This season I’m leaning into simple, mix-and-match pieces that make getting dressed easy again, as that’s always my goal. Zara’s fall collection is full of those effortless staples—think cozy knits, classic trousers, and wear-everywhere layers. I rounded up eight of my favorite basics that make a minimal wardrobe feel anything but boring.

Oversized Sweater + Slim Trousers
I love this oversized sweater but hear me when I say it is OVERSIZED. You may need to size down because it’s a big loosey-goosey fit. I am in the medium, could even mess with a small. It’s a heavy weight sweater as well. It almost feels like something I borrowed out of B’s closet. 10/10 recommend.
These trousers are adorable and I love them — even if they’re a slim fit. I know wide leg is everywhere but there is something so classic about a slim fit trouser. I am in the large, this size is perfect for me. I say go up a size if you need extra wiggle room.

Striped Tee + Silk Scarf
If you are looking for a more fitted, 100% cotton striped tee this is a great option. I’ve tossed back in forth if it’s a keeper for me and I can’t decide. This is the large and fits me more like a medium in the bodice / hips area. I think I was thinking it would be really loose but it’s a normal fitted tee. I like that it’s cotton, and overall it’s a nice piece for under $50! You can always find a reason to wear stripes.
I’m trying out if I’m a scarf gal this fall. I can’t tell — sometimes when I try trends I feel silly and I can’t tell if this is one of those trends. Will report back. But for now, love this scarf and it’s 100% silk!

Simple Tee + Pointed Toe Flats
If you are looking to build your capsule wardrobe or just bulk up you basics, I really like this cotton tee. It’s under $15 and it’s a nice weight for fall. Not too heavy but not thin and it’s 100% cotton. I picked up the brown but there are lots of hues! I am in the large, as it fits more fitted and I wanted some wiggle room.
These flats are gorgeous and look way more expensive than they are. They actually fit true to size too which is rare for a pointed toe. I am in my typical size 10.

Straight Leg Denim + Eyelet Top
I’ve had my eye on this denim for a while, as I tried them on back in August but finally decided to pick them up. I don’t love a raw hem, as you may know but I do like that these are full length. It makes the raw hem less noticeable as opposed to an ankle crop with a raw hem. I am in the 30, fit is TTS.
This eyelet top you’ve seen before and it’s a favorite. I’m thinking about pairing it with this scarf and a trench later this week. Sounds cute right? Always versatile and works well for going into fall, especially with all of this fun denim I’ve been sharing lately. It’s a nice Sezane vibe without Sezane prices.
