I popped into the Gap over the weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. I’ve been hearing murmurs of the gap comeback and I am 100% on board. I used to be a gap loyalist for YEARS, in fact do you remember when I started KE? Gap was my jam for most 30 for 30s! And I did a Gap Styld.By campaign back in the day too. Gap has a sweet spot in my heart so I was excited with what I saw. I used to love finding little gems at Gap and this time was no difference. I do find the style in stores right now to be dialed in casual, Madewell-esque vibes. The quality seemed to be there for a lot of the pieces — a few items I didn’t love the sheerness, but overall I loved the feel of the cotton tees, the denim, and the linen. So let’s get to some things I tried on!

Linen Shorts & Top

I love a linen short for spring / summer and these are a nice tailored look. Ther eis elastic in the back and a button / zipper fly with light pleats. THey don’t poke out or create volume there, which is nice. I am in the medium, they ‘re just slightly snug at the waist but the large were too big. If you are in between sizes, go up one size but overall I’d say they’re true to size.

I wanted one of their many linen shirts and I ended up going with this striped one. They have lots of colors and a few other neutrals as well. I figured I’d get the most wear out of a more basic piece. I’m in the medium and it’s plenty oversized. I think it’s true to size for an oversized fit. Non-sheer as well!

Drawstring Horseshoe Jeans

Love this tee, by the way. It’s their suprima cotton tee, so a bit more expensive than a normal one but I like the smoothness of the cotton and how it lays. It’s also thicker, so it’s not sheer! I’ll link it in this LTK here. I’m in the medium.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these pants! They’re a denim fabric in a light stripe with a drawstring and a barrel fit. I KNOW it sounds like it’s too many things at once but it actually works. I’m in the medium and they’re huge. I love them. Go down a size if you want a closer fit. This pair is just almost sold out, so I’ve linked another version in a different hue here! I’ll be watching them, I’m hoping they come back in full stock! Which by the way, my local Gap had a ton of them, so if you have a local gap it may be worth a trip!

Poplin Matching Set

This set is pink and red, if you can’t quite see it here! It’s really cute and there is also a blue and pink combo that I couldn’t quite decide over but ultimately went red. I am in the medium of the top and bottoms but they fit very different. The top is BIG and loose and very oversized. I loved the fit!

The bottoms fit once you get them on, but the elastic at the waist doesn’t give at all – felt like it was going to *pop* as it was going over my bum. It didn’t and I did buy them, but the getting on / off is less easy. I do like this size once I get them on. So if you are feeling in between sizes, go up one on the shorts and down one on the top.

Girlfriend Denim Shorts

I swear I had a pair of shorts like this in the last 5 years from Madewell. They’re very Madewell-coded, super cute fit. They are a really stretchy denim, mid-rise and the cuff is sewn-in. They were very fitted on my hips, but the waist was fine. I’m in the 29, but if I were going to purchase them I’d go up a size to a 30 for a better / looser fit. I think this style needs to fit more relaxed. But overall, I definitely recommend! They’re a good price, nice quality.

Lace Trim Dress

This dress is on sale! I really loved it actually. My one thing is it is a bit see through. There is a dress liner that comes with it and that helps but I was wearing a darker bra / underwear and I would need to wear a nude hue for maximum coverage. It does run TTS – I’m in the medium, only tightest at the chest. (but this is a push up bra so I think with a different bra it would fit different.

Lace Trim Maxi Skirt

I really loved this set, so much but it looked to be in and out of stock so I wasn’t sure if I should get it or not. I like the black, but the white is just as pretty / cute in person. It just depends on your preference for summer.

The top runs a bit longer than it shows online. This the medium and it covered the top of the skirt, didn’t run ‘cropped’ for me. The skirt is TTS – I’m in the medium. I’ll link another option for the top below!

Oversized Oxford

How very Meghan Markle of Me in this top. I loved this oxford top – it feels quite vintage to me with the embroidery and the cotton feels so nice. It’s a thicker cotton, soft too so it feels kind of worn in. I am in the medium – again it runs very oversized. I like that because I feel like I can wear it a few ways but it is oversized. It’s on sale for $34, too!

bubble hem sweatshirt

I loved this bubble hem sweatshirt! It says that it’s ‘heavy weight’ but honestly it just feels like a high quality cotton. I was actually surprised by the quality of a lot of these piece! Anyways, I ended up getting it in the cream color, but either way you can’t go wrong! I am in the medium, fit is relaxed TTS.

Supima Cotton Tee

Love this tee, by the way. It’s their suprima cotton tee, so a bit more expensive than a normal one but I like the smoothness of the cotton and how it lays. It’s also thicker, so it’s not sheer! I’m in the medium, fit is relaxed but not too oversized or big. It feels chic in the fit.
