The Most Millennial Outfit Ever

Let’s talk about how incredibly millennial this outfit is. I mean it is quite possibly the most millennial outfit ever — white jeans CHECK / striped top CHECK / cognac leather accessories CHECK, CHECK. And you what to know the truth? I absolutely love it. You see this outfit came together for a sponsored post on instagram with Madewell, so I was gifted this outfit from my own choosing. Online as I was styling the whole look,  it seemed less ‘millennial’ but once I put it on, I immediately through ‘oh no!’ even though I love each piece and I feel incredibly comfortable in it. I saw nothing but a millennial mom staring back at me in the mirror. The ‘oh no’ response was because it doesn’t feel like it’s aligned with all the new trends we’ve been given the past year. This has been my initial response as a style influencer trying to figure out how the new trends fit with my own style. So when I see something that we’ve all worn before my overstimulated brain says ‘well that can’t be right’. But it’s not the outfit that’s not right, it’s my perspective. An outfit that I feel excited about and feel GREAT in? It is ABSOLUTELY right!  And yes it may be a very millennial or even a mom look, but I in fact am very millennial and even prouder to be a mom.

However, I will note the non-skinny jeans and I will pat myself on the back for that. I love the Kickout jean from Madewell, I find it so flattering and versatile. If you are looking for a non-skinny jean option, I do think you should give a kick out flare or those slim wide leg jeans from J.Crew that I’ve been screaming about a chance. I like that they can work with sneakers, boots and flats. Oh and heels! Can’t forget my first love, heels. Should heels make a comeback here this year? I think they just might.

Oh and this tote? I will tell you the most important thing I can tell you — it fits a whole laptop with room to spare! Will work well as a work bag as well as an everyday bag, too. It’s bigger than I thought, too. Anyways, you can find it in a few hues here.
