This post is about two things. The first one you’re gonna love — it’s my skirt! (We will get to the second later after you’ve had time to drink some coffee and warm up to me.) For a second I was wondering if we as a society were past slip skirts. I was hesitant to buy anymore (still love this leopard one from amazon tho) but I can confidently say they are here to stay for a while. Slip skirts are in, baby. And they ain’t going anywhere soon. (Don’t ask for my sources on this. N/A.)

Find my J.Crew Slip On Skirt Here.

I swear to God I went into J.Crew to kill time but then I saw this skirt. And maybe a top. And a dress. Don’t worry, they’ll show up on my blog asap. You guys are literally the reason I get dressed in the morning. Anyways, I have to say J.Crew is coming through with some really cute styles this fall. You have to search through their re-do’s, but there are some new styles I’m excited for. This skirt is a really pretty hue too, especially in person. It’s slate green, like a smokey sage color. I paired it with an easy tank for right now, for a late summer / pre fall vibe but this skirt can work for each season. I think it would look perfect with a cardigan or sweater in fall and winter. I’ll try to style it a bit later as well for more ideas!

I am in the medium — true to size fit. Find it here!

Tell me how much you hate the belt bag later because I love it. It’s my Mom Bag 2.0. I feel cool, ya’ll and honestly feeling cool is absolutely something I chase after these days. Year 36 hits different ok? We all age in different ways and mine apparently is by reaching deep into Gen Z trends. Some people get sports cars, I buy questionable accessories.

I usually play pretty fast and loose with this influencer thing but I’ll be transparent about this: I am 100% absolutely, definitely showing you options below so that you too can hop on the belt bag train with me and I won’t be alone out here. Friend — let’s be middle aged trend setters together! We can nod in passing when we see each other out with our belt bags that cut our bodies off at the pass. We can laugh about how we fell for this trend here in a few years. Our wallets, keys and phone will be accessible within in like 2 seconds because it’s literally RIGHT THERE under our nose. And by nose I mean boobs. Have I convinced you yet? Let’s DO it.

(Sarcasm aside, I’ll actually explain why I like these kind of bags. I bought this exact bag from Zara about two years ago and at first I felt like a dummy but I’ve reached for it so much in the last season or so. I tend to do this with Zara, they seem to be a few years ahead of my comfort level. I like it because it’s small but roomy, I can fit all the essentials in there including hand wipes, my full size wallet, phone, AirPods, mask, and my lipstick. It’s nice because I’m hands free like a crossbody, but it’s all just right there. It gives my outfits a more trendier vibe than a crossbody and I like to choose this look if I’m running around in yoga pants all day. While this exact one is gone, I found an IDENTICAL one without the silver rings from Eileen Fisher on sale, randomly enough!)

Slip skirts and fanny packs. The 90’s called and they said ‘love your outfit, girl’ 😉

Fit Details

I am in the medium of the tank — TTS fit. Pretty lightweight. I’m in the medium of the pull on skirt, it fits well but it’s a struggle getting over the booty. Slides fit TTS.
