Striped Ruffled Mini

You ever put something on and think ‘this is probably too small but it’ll be okay’ for the day. My life narrator cuts in with ‘It was, in fact, not okay.’ My skirt is a bit too short for my liking IRL or as Gemma would say ‘for real life.’ In photos it actually looks quite alright, but I wasn’t moving much and there was no wind. Had there been wind? Wooo buddy, it would have been a different kind of shoot.

I actually love this cheap skirt for what it is. And let me tell you — it is what it is, nothing more, nothing less.  I’m honest to a fault so let’s roast the crap out of this skirt. It’s thin, not sheer but not not sheer, and the fabric has a rough linen-like feel (it ain’t linen though…) and the buttons are cheap but effective. Meaning they snap on but they’re hard to snap off, so much in fact that I loosened one when taking the skirt off.  Oh, but I love it, even for all its flaws.  It’s the epitome of a summer skirt and if it were one size bigger I’d be able to walk correctly and feel free to bend forward or even at all. So size up, keep your expectations low, wear a slip and have fun in this cheap thrill if you like the look! It would be a nice swimsuit cover up as well.

Before you start shit talking my taste in clothes, let’s go to the other side of the quality spectrum and talk about my tee. It’s from Vince and is the creme de la creme of quality. I love basic pieces from Vince and I was oddly in need of a good crewneck white tee. I have lots of a v neck tees but not crew, so I turned to my trusted brand, Vince because I wanted it here for a long time, not just a good time. I am in the medium and it’s fitted but true to size!
