If you are like me and have been thinking ‘what shoes should I buy for fall?’ then have I got a post for you today! And it’s only mid-August — talk about overachieving on seasonal footwear!

I can’t even believe it but fall is almost here. I don’t know about you guys but we are having freaky cool weather here. I am not complaining, Texas — you keep underachieving at those record temperatures. But with all of this cool weather, my brain is on fall overdrive.  And honestly the first place my mind goes to is shoes. Shoes are the easiest part of your outfit to transition into fall. Did you hear that genius? Change your shoes and you are easily pre-fall ready.

I like to get a head start on my shoe game before the real season hits, just so that I can hit the ground running with my fall outfits. I’ve gathered all of my favorite shoes and shoe trends for this fall! And I marked the ones above with my KE favorite stamp but honestly I want them all. It’s not possible, but a girl can dream.

(as always you can click on the ‘+’ on each product above!)

Let’s break this fall shoe game down, shall we?

Booties forever: I will put money each fall on the fact that booties are a staple and will come back next season. The problem I have with my booties is that I wear them completely out, so when the next fall / winter season arrives I’m in need of a new pair. I am loving these low profile booties especially in the grey! Way to change it up this season. Huge fan of grey suede for fall. (Also love the cut-out trend! These didn’t make the graphic, but they did make my imaginary cart.) Also I can’t believe these leather booties are under $200 (the black ones above). They are exactly what I’ve been looking for!

Maybe menswear: I have this theory about menswear inspired pieces that I would love to prove wrong each year — I’m just too tall. Hear me out — I wear a size 10 shoe so my foot could actually handle an actual man’s shoe. So when I try menswear inspired pieces on my very lovely but very large foot, it feels…well manly. So I love this trend in this oxford! It feels girly but also it fills that curiousity of menswear that I’ve never quite been able to conquer. I also love love these but alas I just don’t know if I’m the girl to pull them off. But someone please buy them and wear them. I love them and I want to live vicariously through your feet.

All the feels for flats: I in fact do consider those little 1 inch heel mary janes as flats because I am an overdramatic lush and if it has anything less than 3 inches, I don’t consider it tall enough to be a heel. I have high (heel) standards. But not to distract you from the other actual flats — these Vince slides I just ordered and love. You know my affinity for nude flats is wide and deep. In fact, I’m loving that mule slides are in this fall — this black pair is nothing less than perfect. I’ve also learned to keep my flats to neutral shades — they are an easy travel companion and can go with vitally any outfit!

Cool hues: I am loving the cognac suede in these heels and this pair of mary janes! This color is so easily paired with everything fall, so I love that this fall it’s available in so many different shoes other than booties. And can we talk about this shoe-tie in grey? You know I love a good shoe-tie (open toe, not quite a bootie) and this one is perfect in the grey tone. And as I said before, you can’t go wrong with anything nude with shoes — this lace up heel is the first fall shoe I’ve purchased and I can’t wait to get it in the mail.

Sneaky, sneaky: No season is complete without some sneakers and I love Nike Flyknits. I currently have just the black ones but love this heather grey look — perfect for weekends or pairing with a casual dress! And if you haven’t branched out into Adidas Superstars or Stan Smiths, friends this is your season. They are everywhere — and such a cool piece to have in your closet this fall. Also, I shouldn’t have to convince you much because when I say comfortable shoes are in style — RUN and buy these. Who knows how long the fashion trends will allow this? 😉

That’s my round up of shoes for fall! What shoe trend are you most excited about this fall??

  1. Your first paragraph made pop these questions in my head: Don’t you repair your shoes? What’s wrong with them after the year? My oldest pair are heeled sandals from 8+ years ago (still can’t find perfect replacement). When I buy autumn or winter shoes I expect them to last at least 5 years.
Oh how I need another pair of autumn/spring shoes…. I should start searching. I have this lovely pair of cognac brown heeled oxfords, that have sole replaced after a year of wear, because I wore them so often! They’re better than new.
