6.12.14-1

I was wearing this shirt last weekend and a lady said “I just bought that same shirt! Isn’t it the cutest cover-up??” I was in denial that she was talking to me because I wasn’t wearing a swimsuit cover-up, I was wearing a tunic. I agreed how cute the top was and then ran to my phone to look up to see if this was a tunic or a cover up. Surely I wasn’t wearing swimwear out like a real top… turns out it’s actually a tunic cover-up. So techincally we are both correct. Well played, Old Navy, well played.

All that to say, I’m wearing swim gear today with heels. Things I never thought I’d say.

  1. I have had this sitting in my online cart. I too would wear it as a top! Love how you wore it 🙂

  2. Kendi, kendi, kendi, you silly girl. What ever are you going to do with all those clothes you have. You are a born consumer.

  3. We love how you turned a great structured tunic and created a cohesive outfit! The slightly distressed denim plays up the casual tons of your top and the structured bag a great wedge give it an elegant feel!

  4. Well, I love it! And growing up in Hawaii, people (including myself) would wear the oddest/greatest mixtures of swimwear and everyday clothing. It’s kind of my favorite style. 🙂

  5. This is so funny because literally a minute ago, I was reading a blog that was titled “Summer Coverup” and I see…. photos of my dress…or what I thought was a dress! Hahahaha I’m a little sad now because now I’m confused. 🙂

  6. hahah what a funny little story. I always switch an item back and forth between a tunic and cover-up. That top is fabulous, I think I might need to head to Old Navy this weekend!

  7. I will never get tired of looking at the beautiful coloring on your photos. Love.

  8. I love this story!!! I was in Target yesterday trying on a white tunic & the thought crossed my mind if it was wearable without my bathing suit underneath!! I am on the hunt for versatile pieces to bring to Europe this summer. 3 weeks in 1 suitcase that weighs no more than 50 pounds is a major challenge for me!

  9. Those aviators are totally Tammy Taylor, and I love it.
I am short, so I experience tunic issues fairly often — sometimes shirts can easily be tunics or dresses on me. That said, swimwear or not, it’s a cute & versatile top.

  16. I also have this tunic and LOVE it. I’ve worn it to work with cropped dress pants and with cut offs over my bikini. Versatile!

  24. Well when you really think about it, all clothes are cover-ups. I mean that’s why we wear them – because we have to cover up our nakedness. Just an extra reason that it’s OK for you to wear this.
