I wore this outfit a few weeks ago but never posted it because…well, I didn’t like my shoe choice for that day. I didn’t realize this until after we took photos…

I mean, honestly we all have bad shoe days, it happens. Hell, I’ve had bad shoe years before so a day is nothing. Truth is, I’ve yet to invest in a full length mirror for our house so I’m making shoe to outfit decisions blindly these days. So I shall call this my ‘almost outfit’ — because all outfits need shoes.

I just couldn’t waste the pretty colors on this outfit though. So you’ll have to imagine the rest of this outfit with fabulous shoes on, mkay? And not the weird booties I tried to force onto these pants.

  1. I can't believe you don't have a full lenght mirror. I would go CRAZY without mine. Also you should have shown your shoes. I think it would have been interesting take on a outfit post, also i'm just curious lol BUT I do love the purple and blue together

  2. ok now I must know what shoes you wore with this… I bet it's not even bad!

  3. omg. we haven't invested in a full length mirror yet either (1.5yrs after moving in….) I'm always making shoe-to-outfit decisions blindly, too! I run to the full length mirror at work when i get in…as if I could change in case it was really bad?? 🙂

  4. geeze, you just look so stinkin' gorgeous. it's always worth sharing pictures where your hair looks that great.

  5. Too funny! I've definitely had those moments. I love the leopard flats you 'should have worn.' I have the Madewell slippers in that same pattern/fabric and I'm obsessed with them. Have a great weekend!

  6. I didn't have a full-length mirror for 3 years, just got one from West Elm! So I feel your pain. I'm sure your shoes looked great!

  7. Hey, we all have misses sometimes! I'm glad you still decided to share the rest of the outfit- I'm digging the colors. And even though I know we'll never know what the original booties were, I'm pretty darn curious 🙂

  8. These color are so different but the combination is perfect! I can't imagine how you made a bad choice shoe. You are always pretty.
    😀

  9. LOL….I laugh because I do this ALL the time. Put on a cute outfit and grab a pair of shoes as I rush out the door thinking they will work, then realize they don't when I get to the office. Definitely need to invest in a full length mirror 🙂

  10. Oh, you should have shown us so that we don't make the same mistake!! Teach us. 😀 I do like the shoes you should've worn.

  11. Great post! That's such a blogger problem, cos sometimes an outfit just doesn't translate into pictures!

    Love this outfit tho!

  12. I often skip taking outfit photos because I did "something weird" with the shoes. It's still an adorable almost-outfit, and I really want that tunic.

  13. I probably would have just worn leopard flats with that outfit, bc I will use any excuse to wear a little leopard 🙂

  14. That first photo of you is absolutely breathtaking! Your makeup looking perfect.

Love that you openly admit to not having a full length mirror. Trust me, I've made some bad shoe choices with a full length mirror, it happens. I will say, once you get one, you'll wonder why you buy one earlier. Whenever I move, it's one of the first things that I buy. Over the years, I've bought plenty.

  15. I think we've all had those days! Especially when I'm running late, only to realize way later in the day when I go to the bathroom and see my outfit choice in a full length mirror. Doesn't happen often but when it does… it's bad! ha

  16. haha hilarious and yes we have all been there before! I have trashed so many photo shoots because a shoe, hair, purse, etc. just wasn't right!

  17. The blue and purple side by side are beautiful, I'm glad you shared part of the outfit!

We all definitely have abd shoes days, but we gotta wear something on your feet, right? At least we achieved that part! 🙂

  18. The rest of the outfit is so fantastic I think I would have just worn nude pumps with it. Great colors

  19. The colors in your outfit + your hair colors = amazing. Your hair almost looks like it's glowing to me. Trust me, we all have bad shoe days. Like when I succumb to the Danskos, even though I know they won't make the outfit look great (but they will make my feet fell good). 🙂

  20. i had to click the link to the shoe because what you said 😉 Had to see how "bad" they could be for this outfit.
if this is the pair of shoes you wore with the outfit, I don't think they are that bad. Unless the flats don't flatter the porportion of your long top.
BTW, you don't seem to wear flats, not in cooler/cold weather especially.
just saying. 🙂 Have a good weekend!

  21. These pictures make it seem like your skin and hair is glowing. You look FABulous! So glad you decided to post these 🙂

  22. You make me smile so much Kendi! I am sure your shoe choice could not have been that bad, but I totally understand what that feeling is like. Shoes can make, or break, an outfit.

I love the shoes you "should have" worn. Works with these colors perfectly!
