I never thought I’d see the day where I’d love a denim skirt again. And yet, here we are. What’s next? My love for overalls returns? (Spoiler alert — it did. And I love them. I’ll post about them next week!)

This black denim skirt feels more sophisticated than I thought it would. And it feels a bit more pulled together than my cut-offs — although no trash talking to my one true love of summer. I find myself gravitating towards it if I’m needing to run errands or working at a coffee shop that day. Summertime business chic, if you will. You can find this denim skirt here or a blue denim version here!

If I had to tell you to buy one sandal this summer, I think it would be these slides.* (Asterisk is there in case I decide to change my mind.) They are easy and this neutral color literally goes with everything. I didn’t even feel weird with my black crossbody and neutral sandal. I’m usually pretty matchy-matchy with things but the neutral color of the sandals set my matching soul at ease.

Speaking of neutrals, I went into Anthropologie to make a return and ended up making an exchange. This top just called to me from the rack, I’m telling you. I am such a sucker for a loose button down. This one technically ties at the bottom (as seen on the model here) but it’s able to be tucked, just not button all the way down! It actually has a very beachy vibe. You can find this top here! As always my fit info is below!

Fit Details

This Topshop denim mini skirt fits true to size, but a little bit more fitted in the hips at first. As I’ve worn it has loosened and I love the fit now! I’m in the 8. This top runs big! I’m in the medium and it’s very loose! Size down if you want a more fitted look, or stay true to size but expect it to be very long and loose!

Monthly Capsule Wardrobe
