If you’re ever in need of a staycation in Dallas, or if you’ve ever thought how is she wearing shorts in March, then you should come and spend a weekend here. (Especially before our impending death valley summer.) One of our favorite hotels to stay at is The Joule in downtown. It’s walking distance to a ton of things and they have the cutest coffee shop on the planet there. Coffee is my love language so it seals the deal for me at any hotel.

On Saturday we ended up stumbling upon a spring festival at Klyde Warren park with food trucks and live music. I found the best ice cream sandwich ever and politely shared with B even though I basically wanted 2 more. Between the park and then the pool that afternoon, our staycation was a perfect getaway. If you need a weekend away, I know Dallas seems super random but we actually have a ton of things to do and see. And eat. Okay, mainly eat. 😉 We are Texans after all.

When I wore this off the shoulder top in last week’s post, I told you it was a fast favorite. I wore it all weekend long. It is long enough to still cover the bump and I just love the bow in the back. If it came in other colors, I’d buy them all. (Hint, hint Nordstrom.) I’m such a sucker for a bow.

But what I’m really excited for are these shoes — I rarely took them off this weekend. They are the cutest sneakers meets espadrilles meets platforms. Who knew I needed that combo in my life? They feel like sneakers but I feel like the look is a bit more elevated. Also this is me admitting that I’m so into flats lately. Maybe flats are getting cuter these days or maybe it’s the pregnancy — either way I am here for the sneaker and the flat trend. And I’m definitely here for these sneakers. (I’ll never trade in my heels, but I might take a quick pause for the next few months. 😉 )

Also note to self: don’t talk about the weekend you just had on Tuesday. It makes you want to skip the next three days and do it again.

Fit Details

Top fits oversized, so stay true to size or size down one. Shoes run just a tad big, but not huge. I’m in my normal size with a bit of room. If you lean towards smaller, possibly go a half size down.

Monthly Capsule Wardrobe

Each month I create monthly capsules out of my favorite pieces, perfectly curated for each month.
