Last week, our actual autumn decided to show up. (Just a few months late…) I was prepared fashion-wise, but emotionally I was not prepared. All of a sudden we go from ‘why is it still summer’ to ‘wait I think I need a coat.’ Β The tears of joy that I came from my ability to justify my coats and sweaters might have lasted for longer than I’d like to admit. Sweater weather is finally here. *praise hands emojis forever*

Which brings me to my first point — this sweater coat. I actually thought it was a coat when I first saw it, which definitely proves that I might not know what a real coat is. But I’ve thought about it and this sweater coat is actually perfect for everyone because it’s a sweater OR a coat. Here’s why: if you live in a place where you ease into winter like we do down south, this is basically another sweater layer you can throw on when you don’t quite need a full coat. But if you live somewhere where you are already freezing your tush off, then this can be another layer for you under your coat. See? It’s a win-win sweater coat. Plus for someone who is typically always cold, it’s the perfect shade to toss on with most anything. (But I’m especially partial to grey right now. Grey + camel = forever.) My camel conquest continues.

I’m always on the look out for new booties and came across this Free People pair over the weekend. They are kind of a new look for me, so I’m giving them a spin. I’ve been seeing these type ofΒ ankle booties everywhere. Sometimes it takes me a hot minute to try and to like a new trend. But I thought I’d give this pair a shot — they were a great price, I really love the color and to be honest, the short but tall thing is working on me. I think they will be really precious with dresses or skirts. Old dogs can learn new tricks, especially when they come in four different colors.

PS: The booties fit TTS and the sweater coat its a bit oversized, I’m in the medium with plenty of room.

  1. I also like in-between clothes because you can make up cute names for them, like coatigan and swacket. I made up swacket (sweater + jacket) but I’m hoping it will catch on.

    1. Ack! I did forget it! It’s Marc Jacobs Beauty Lip Color in Blow. πŸ™‚

  2. I love your pics and video from DC! It is one of the many places in this country that I haven’t spent enough time, so the opportunity to live vicariously is greatly appreciated. Where will your next trip be to?
