I’ve teamed up with Nordstrom this week to bring you a couple of posts styling summer dresses. Which is perfect timing because I’ve been on the hunt for more dresses this summer. The hunt is always more fun when someone encourages it. I ended up finding this white number in store and liked it immediately. That’s actually quite hard with dresses because you have so many things that could go or fit wrong. I’m pretty partial to fit n’ flare dresses, which is lucky because that’s a very popular style these days. (Don’t worry if you are new to the term ‘fit n’ flare’ or to people using an ‘n’ instead of the word ‘and’. I learned this term while buying for bloom; it’s usually a best-selling style in the industry.) I think it’s popular because a lot of different body types can wear it and it’s pretty darn flattering.
To me, white dresses are the uniforms of summer. What is it about summer that just makes me want to wear a dress all the time? (Or is that just me? Am I alone in this dress n’ summer obsession?) For example, I could easily pair this dress with sandals or sneaks and it would be just as adorable. Also, if I’m wearing a dress this means I’m not wearing pants. Always, always a plus in the summer. Another upside to a white dress? You can wear it virtually anywhere — except to a wedding that is not yours. Which is funny because anytime I think ‘wedding’ when I’m the guest or someone else is I immediately go to white. But other than that white dresses for summer — I vote yes.
