Poppy + Oxblood

It scares me sometimes how much I’m drawn to wearing color. I think I’ve said this before but I don’t really like standing out in the crowd. I’d rather just be quiet and sneaky than stick out. But my penchant for color is alarming and doesn’t help my case for wanting to sneak in somewhere unnoticed. In other words, I’d be a terrible spy. But I’d be a great clown. There’s always the bright side of things, right?

In other news, if you aren’t using the term ‘oxblood’ for that old worn out term burgundy or worse maroon (I shudder), then you are stuck in the past my friend. Burgundy is dead. Oxblood is the new…black*. And also I made up poppy for this color of red-orange,  just in case it catches on I’d like the credit.

*I also just made that up. My validity is decreasing by the day, isn’t it?

I like the term burgundy, this 'Ox Blood' really makes me think of an ox bleeding. Sad. But I get the picture, and the shade is beautiful, along with your bright poppy, I can't help but want to do a little color blocking myself :)

these two colors together are golden (not literally but you know!) I think that it really pops with everything else. I would never think to pair orange with a purple! But it looks lovely together. and that collar is perfect on it too. I love reading you. always a great thing xo cortne

I LOVE this outfit! So cute. I remember this Anthro coat from last year. It’s adorable. I have purple cords I got from Anthro last year and I wear them at least once a week during winter season in MA which is from October-April!
