We’ve been so busy this summer I almost forgot to rate and review June’s Nuuly box! Which would be a shame because it was one of my better ones. It’s taken me like what 18 months of renting but I really feel like I’ve cracked the code to Nuuly and renting in general. I also think Nuuly has pumped way more inventory into their system, but maybe that’s just me? It feels like things are restocked quicker and there are a ton more ‘new’ items. I have no data on this, just a feeling.

In June, I rented a few dresses and some fun tops and really liked my choices! So let’s get to the reviews!

_________________________

But first, a little housekeeping: If you are new here, I wanted to try out a clothing rental service and I chose Nuuly. Nuuly charges $98 once a month and you get to choose 6 items to wear all month long then you send the pieces back. You can check out the Nuuly website here.

Each month I calculate the cost per wear for each pieces in my nuuly box. Here are the numbers: each box is $98 for 6 pieces. (For consistency, I’m leaving out taxes here since it will differ for each state.) So if you take the $98 divided by the 6 items, it’s about $16.33 per item, if you wear each item one time. Every item’s cost of $16.33 will be divided by the frequency of wear. (i.e. Cost of item rental ÷ times piece was worn = rental price per wear). Just to go a step too far, I’ve also broken down each piece with a rating system and a review for each item below.

MY RATING SYSTEM:

⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ = would consider buying full price / will miss it when it’s gone!
⭑⭑⭑⭑ = really liked it, would prefer to buy on sale
⭑⭑⭑ = on the fence, liked it but can’t see myself wearing that often / buy on sale only
⭑⭑ = liked but didn’t wear it at all or found it hard to style
⭑ = didn’t like it / didn’t fit

TOBIE SLEEVLESS STRIPED DRESS | ⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 3
CONDITION: NEW WITH TAGS
COST PER WEAR: $5.43

Oh I loved this dress! I wore it a few times, it was just so flattering and comfortable. The fabric is lightweight with a hint of stretch, as well so it moves well. It fits true to size, with the bust being the most fitted for me, of course. Anthropologie has been taking one popular silhouette and making a lot of options for them (Colette pants, Somerset dress) and I am here for it with this silhouette. This is the Tobie and I love how it comes in at the waist, but leaves room for the bust. More of this please!

MARE MARE PLEATED TUBE TOP | ⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 3
CONDITION: NEW WITH TAGS
COST PER WEAR: $5.43

This was a fun little top to rent! It was new with tags, but I can’t seem to find it on line to shop. I loved that it was 100% cotton and it fit well with structure in the fabric so it stayed in place. This was a nice ‘rental’ piece, one that I enjoyed wearing but happy to send back as well! Wore it a few times but mainly like this outfit here. I didn’t stray much from a simple look with this top.

MADEWELL TRAVEL PANTS | ⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 4
CONDITION: NEW WITH TAGS
COST PER WEAR: $4.08

Oh man I loved these pants but definitely needed the large. They’re just a touch too tight in my waistband for my liking. They’re on sale now but it looks like they’re selling fast in this color way. I’ll link them here anyways! I would have kept this pair had they been a large instead of the medium. Such a comfy piece!

ANTHROPOLOGIE PILCRO COTTON TOP | ⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 6
CONDITION: NEW WITH TAGS
COST PER WEAR: $2.72

This one I just *almost* kept and now I’m kicking myself for not. I actually don’t know why I didn’t…I think it’s because I make these decisions last minute and I ended up just tossing it all back in the pack and moving on. But I loved this top, would buy full priced. I am in the large, it fits perfectly and slightly loose / boxy. It’s 100% cotton, almost a rigid denim feel to it as well. It is a slightly shorter / cropped fit but all of my bottoms are high waisted so no biggie there. Loved this one ands so sad to see her go.

SILKY COWL NECK TOP | ⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 2
CONDITION: NEW WITH TAGS
COST PER WEAR: $8.16

Was this one a full swerve as far as style goes? Yes but I absolutely loved it. And if I can’t rent the fun stuff then what am I doing?! It reminded me of my high school fashions, very Y2K as the kids would say. I wore it with these pants and my wide leg jeans as well, which was a full throwback to 2003. Would I buy this top for my life right now? No but if I had a fun concert to go to, I’d 100% wear this top. I’m in the medium, it runs generously.

FARM RIO Tropical Porcelain Print Maxi Dress  | ⭑⭑⭑⭑
TIMES WORN OVER THE MONTH: 0
CONDITION: NEW WITH TAGS
COST PER WEAR: $16.33

I broke my own rule and rented a Farm Rio piece. To be fair to myself, this dress is beautiful and the pattern is quite calm for a Farm Rio piece. I did not end up wearing this beautiful dress but only because I really didn’t have anywhere to where it to! It felt a bit too nice for a dinner date but I probably should have just gone for it, to be honest. So instead I sent it back, new with tags for the next renter to get in mint condition. It has big vacation vibes, it’s very beachside in my opinion. Loved it, just didn’t wear it. I was in the large, fit is perfect.

  1. Pelota Libre TV es una opción bastante usada por quienes quieren ver fútbol en vivo por internet. En el sitio suelen aparecer distintos canales deportivos con partidos en directo, tanto del fútbol argentino como de torneos internacionales.

  2. Just CURIOUS – what do you do with ththe NWT items? Do you remove the tag? Ive never done a monthly rental service and the idea of RENTING brand new with tags clothing is surprising to me! Thanks!

    1. No I know! I LOVE getting the new with tags items (filtered by New!) I don’t remove the tags if I don’t wear them! If I just try them on and I don’t really ‘wear’ them, I leave the tags because it’s still new. So that way someone else gets a NWT item 🙂 In this case, the red dress was NWT but I wore it out in NYC, so I gave it a good wash then steamed it and sent it back! I try to take care of the items because sometimes with rental items, you can tell someone just waded it up and threw it back in. I like to return mine in as best condition as I can.
