Hello friends, I’m back after being out sick last week! But I’m back with a new closet set up + new recommendations for spring. I browsed Gap for a few new items to add to my closet that would be easy go-to’s and I sure did find them. No huge promo going on but I did notice that there is 20% off for some items!

PS: if you are wondering about my closet, it’s from Wayfair! It’s easy to put together because I did it — and that’s saying something you guys. And I’ve had an Ikea closet before and this feels nicer / heavier than Ikea, plus it’s less expensive.

The Gauzey Set

This set is my favorite and I just know it’s going to get lots of wear this summer. I like sets that I can end up wearing double duty to the pool as well as out and about. I know that makes it seem like this set is really casual, but I feel like with the right accessories I can elevate it easily.

I am in the medium of the top, as it runs big. I am in the large of the shorts, because I wanted a looser fit overall. I find their shorts can run a bit snug in the waist / hip area. There is a slight color differentiation between these two pieces, but it’s nominal for me so I am keeping them both.

The Spring Sweater + Linen Pants

I love these types of sweaters for spring and summer. Sure, it is a bit see-thru but not in an inappropriate way. You’d really have to be up in my business to see anything going on under this sweater. And even then, you’d be disappointed ok?? I am in the large of the sweater and I love this loose fit. If you want a more tailored fit, stick with your typical size.

I’m in the large of the pants and they’re a touch generous on me. I like the length, however so I’ll be sticking with the large. I’m at an annoying size right now where mediums are a touch too tight and larges fit too big. So I tend to size up just so it’s not too tight overall. I do think these pants have a nice flowy fit to them, so your typical size should be just fine. What I like about this pair is it has the same fit as their easy pants, it’s a really nice and flattering, loose but tailored fit. Plus they’re lightweight for summer.

They are a linen blend and if you’d prefer 100% linen, go for this pair from quince instead!

Pastel Peplum

You know I’m a big fan of this butter yellow (or lemon yellow, whichever culinary pastel name you prefer.) And I’ve been in need of some new tops for spring. I was pleased as a peach that this top was so cute on. Now I’m in the large and it runs pretty big / generously overall. It’s not as short as it shows online, which I’m grateful for. I could probably go for a medium and may switch it out! It’s a gauzy fabric, nice and lightweight. Will be easy to pair with denim, shorts, skorts this spring!

PS: these are Spanx barrel jeans! I love this silhouette the most from Spanx. I’m in the large, they shrink up a bit in the wash.

Linen Blend Tee

Basic tees are always a need around here. I’m always reaching for a simple tee and after discovering this tee from Gap last year, I’ve been going back for their basics. This tee is a linen blend tee — so it looks / feels like linen but less scratchy and with more pliability. It’s lightweight and perfectly oversized for summer. I love this fit in a tee and find it hard to come by. I’m in the large, but it runs generously. This tee comes in a few neutrals as well!

This pair of pants is going to be a return for me. They’re a low rise fit and I historically speaking need a high rise fit. If you like a low rise, then this is the fit for you! Otherwise I really like the pants, in general. They run true to size. I’m in the large, regular length.
