I did a little shopping at Madewell over the last week and I found some really lovely pieces for summer. I picked up some nice essentials that I know I’ll wear over and over, which is the goal. I’ve been trying to lean into finding pieces that I will actually wear over and over instead of the flashy bold pieces that my eyes are always drawn to in the store but seem to miss when it comes to hanging in my closet. (Which is one reason I’ve switched to Nuuly vs always wondering the aisles of Anthro). I’ve rounded up my favorite pieces here, so let’s get to it!

Love love this outfit right here! I am in the medium of the skirt — it runs relaxed / loose. It is fully lined, with pockets too! This is honestly a really high quality skirt from Madewell and I love that it’s cotton / lined. I’ve had a more gauzy white skirt before but this thicker poplin is where it is at. I definitely think this is a great choice for summer! Find it here.

I LOVED this tee! I knew I would too. It’s also a thicker cotton, holds its shape well. It runs relaxed, I’m in the medium. Very cute, highly highly recommend! It works well for when you wan to wear a tee but it needs to be cuter than just a plain white tee. I know that’s vaguely specific but you get it, right?

Here is the same striped tee but in red! Very summer, very nautical. But as you can see it’s not too loose or relaxed. If you want a looser fit, go up a size bc it’s a thicker cotton! You can find it here.
I’ve been looking for a summer hat and I think I found her. This one doesn’t feel too big and it’s just bucket hat adjacent enough that I feel cool. I am in the S-M and I think it fits just fine. It’s hard to know your head size but I would say mine is small to normal and the S-M fits fine. Find it here!
PS: it’s my 2nd favorite pair of J.Crew denim shorts! I tried some from Madewell but the fit was off and just too short / too distressed for what I wanted this summer. This pair runs TTS with stretch, I’m in the 29 — perfect fit. Find them on sale here!
I didn’t realize (yes I did) that I was so into eyelet but apparently it’s all I want to wear because I am keeping both of these eyelet tops. This one is the fancier older sister of the tee I just showed you, as this one is a nice blouse with a loose, flowy fit. I am in the medium and it’s a loose, boxy fit true to size. It is slightly sheer but not showy, it’s just the eyelet that’s see thru a bit.
LOVE this top but it’s going fast! I will make one note – the arm holes are a bit snug. If you have bigger arms, keep this in mind and prehaps size up one. I am in the medium and the large could work for me as well. This top comes in this gorgeous yellow but in white as well!
Love this dress! In fact, I wore it Saturday night and loved it, it’s super comfortable and easy to wear. I am in the 8, fit is perfect, true to size. There is a zipper on the side so you don’t have to unbutton all the buttons to get the dress on. I did end up unbuttoning a lot of them and liked the look of a more open neckline, just FYI.

I love this tee but I am torn on this color. It’s kind of like a shark grey, a bit flat. I can’t tell if it’s one I want to keep but if it’s not a YES it’s probably a no. I am in the medium fit is perfect. I truly love the fit and feel of this tee – it feels cool to the touch and it’s fitted but not clingy. Highly recommend the tee!
