Nordstrom Anniversary Try-On + Review

Hi guys! Okay so yesterday I went into Nordstrom to shop the Anniversary Sale and my first verdict? It’s actually really good. It seems better edited / curated this year. I haven’t heard any other opinions, so maybe mine is unpopular but there are a lot of unique finds that feel like the original Nordstrom sale I used to shop. The quality of the items seemed higher and the fits were spot on. Only a few things did I find were just way off on fit. All in all, I give this year’s sale a 4/5!

Things I was excited for:

– Boots! I found three pairs of boots that I absolutely love and 100% recommend. They are booties, I should specify. However in my store there weren’t any OTK or tall boots that I liked. These here were too short for me and these here just weren’t the vibe.

– Sneakers! This year the sneakers showed up — If you like ON, there is ON. If you like Nike, there is Nike. If you like New Balance, it’s there. You get the idea. I was really excited because this is when I get my gym shoes, lol. I ended up grabbing these Nike trainers here and this pair of Airmax 270 as well. I’m giving this pair of chunky Nike’s a try too — I’ll report back if they are too cool for me. 😉

– Denim! I’ll get into this in the try on below but the jeans seemed to fit normal this year? Last year the fabric / fit seemed off for Mother Denim but this year they felt exactly the same. If you are looking for Mother, Hudson, Joe’s, Madewell, AG or Paige, all the best sellers are there! I found a pair of AG (almost) skinny jeans, a pair of Mother that I loved but ended up leaving on accident, and 2 pairs of Madewell denim. The Madewell is under $100 so that’s a nice surprise!

– Dresses! I found so many good dresses that felt new to me and not too trend heavy or forward. The fabric’s felt nice and of the same quality you would expect from Nordstrom. I’ll get into my favorites below!

– Button downs! If you had a long list of button downs of all kinds, Nordstrom sale has got you. I mean if you want chambray, white, striped, oversized, fitted, etc. They are all there. So if you are looking for some nice button downs, by all means…

– Sunglasses! I know this sounds random but there are some great sunglass options this year! From Quay to Ray Ban to CELINE which I am dying for by the way. There are some great universal styles and at great prices. I picked up these Ray-Ban here.

Things I was less enthused about:

– Outerwear. I love this coat here but other than that I was underwhelmed. It could be because I hate coats and it’s 99 degrees out and it makes me nauseous to think about a coat right now. Yeah that’s probably it. But personal feelings aside, I just wasn’t thrilled with the styles vs the price. The ones I loved were pretty pricey and/or looked like something I already own.

– Beauty. Now what I found was good but I was sad at the lack of Charlotte Tilbury and other skincare. I typically stock up on all of my skincare during this sale and it just isn’t available. Full price it is for me! You can check out my beauty finds here!

– Sweaters. Again it could be because I am triggered by them in our heat wave, but I just didn’t find a TON of sweaters. Now the ones I found (see below!) I loved, but I found more unique ones instead of luxury ones or essentials. That could have just been my store, though!

– Activewear. Specifically the lack of Alo in the sale. I LOVE grabbing my ALO pieces during the sale and besides this tank, I wasn’t really able to find the essentials from Alo I usually reach for. They did have a new to me brand Beyond Yoga that I really like and there were some Zella pieces that are a steal. But overall, it seemed like a very small selection IMO.

– Handbags. I loved this All Saints tote (bought it) because it’s super sturdy and nice, but overall I was underwhelmed by the handbags. Longchamp is nice, but besides this tote and a few crossbody’s from Allsaints, I say move on.

Okay so now that the Negative Nancy is out of the way, let’s get to the try on! Not all of these went home with me and absolutely no Nordstrom employees were harmed during this try on. In fact, my stylist and I made friends and now I want her to babysit my kid. lol.
