This dress reminded me of something and I just couldn’t put my finger on it. Then I realized — it’s the scene in Pretty Woman where she has the brown polka dot dress on that I’ve catalogued that gorgeous look for years somewhere deep inside my brain. I think this might be low-key cosplay. So I looked it up and it’s so similar, the differences being her dress was a high neck situation and she belted it, but my purse here matches the same leather as her belt. I’m not kidding — I really catalogued that look. And of course, instead of a polo match I wore this to a coffee shop and instead of a boyfriend I’ve been married for 15 years, so the background stories nor the neckline do not match up but the polka dots do.

Shop the Dress

This dress is from Amazon, which I find myself shopping from more in the summer. Do you have places where you seasonal shop? I have no idea why Amazon = summer to me but it does. I find the best summer pieces there to be honest. This dress being one of them. It’s lightweight and it’s breezy. The twirl on the skirt is just right, too. Two things to note: the dress has an asymmetrical seam on the tiers — I thought mine was off but I realized that’s the design. Second, this is a print on the fabric so it does not show on both sides. The inside of the dress is white. However it’s not sheer or see through, so you can wear without care. You can find this dress is many different patterns and colors here!

Fit Details

I am in the large of the dress, I find it to run true to size for a size 8/10. The straps are adjustable. The shoes fit TTS, I wear a 41 for a size 10.

Monthly Capsule Wardrobe

Each month I create monthly capsules out of my favorite pieces, perfectly curated for each month.

  1. Such a pretty look! And I *Love* the pretty woman reference. 🙂 In fact, I’d love to see more outfits that are inspired by classic movies! Happy summer. 🙂
