I feel like this dress makes her own case for wearing black in the summertime without any help from me. She’s the real star here, I’m just the messenger. You know I love finding gems from all over the internet, but this one — she’s a real find. First off, this dress is under $40 AND is in FULL STOCK for sizes XS through XXXL. And while I’m very partial to black, this dress also comes in an ivory and a really pretty green! I wear the medium, per usual, and found it slightly snug at the chest but not enough for me to size up. (I’m a 34D chest / size 6 / 5’9″ for reference!) Find this dress here before everyone else on the internet does. It can be our little secret.

So what do I like best about this dress?  Well sis, where do I start? You KNOW I love a bold sleeve and these sleeves do not disappoint. They are puffed at the shoulder and I love the longer length of the sleeves, it gives it more of a fancier look than causal. (One note, there is elastic at the elbow and after a full days wear it left an imprint. Not a huge deal but if this bothers you, I wanted to mention it!) I love the square neckline that continues to the back as well but you can wear it with a regular bra. (Bonus points for that.) The fabric is cotton with a hint of stretch so it makes it very breathable for summer. Plus if you wanted a dress that can be casual or dressy for summer, this is a great option. This dress works well with heels, sneakers or sandals. Depending on where you’re going you can adjust your accessories and shoes for the occasion.

TL;DR: it’s the perfect dress.

Another fun fact about this dress? It’s from Walmart! They have really expanded their fashion lines from over the years and two of my favorites are Free Assembly and Scoop. This dress is from the Scoop line and I would say they are more trendy / fashion pieces while Free Assembly is more ‘everyday’ pieces. If you like trendy, Scoop is for you. If you are more of a capsule wardrobe / neutral gal, Free Assembly would be your best bet. As far as sizing goes, I find Scoop runs a bit smaller but Free Assembly is always true to size for me. I’m a medium across the board, but Scoop seems to fit more tailored.  Scoop has accessories and shoes as well, like these jute sandals I’m  wearing and this macrame purse! I’ve rounded up my favorite summer pieces from there including matching sets (we love to see it) and my favorite one piece wonders from dresses to rompers!
