Pearls are such a classic staple in a women’s wardrobe. My styleĀ tends to beĀ more conservative when it comes to accessories and jewelry — I always think less is more when it comes to jewelry. So it’s always nice to have a few classic staples a part of my wardrobe: a delicate gold chain, a long pendant necklace, a statement necklace, and a timelessĀ pearl necklace.Ā Simple statements are the best way to accessorize. You can dress upĀ almost any outfit for everyday or an event with just a few staple, classic necklaces.Ā Pearls give the most classic statement you can make; there is just nothing more timeless.

That’s why I’m so excited to partner with Bloomingdale’s and their Carolee collection. The best part of this jewelry collectionĀ is that they come with a purpose:Ā Carolee has created the ‘Pearls of Wisdom’Ā collection for the 100% campaign, exclusively at Bloomingdales. This collection is particularly special because it supports the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with a $5 donation for each piece sold. A timeless piece of style that gives a gift that goes a long way. (I’m wearing this layered look but I also love this one as well!)

As timeless as pearls canĀ be, I like to try to update their look when I wear them. Classic with a bit of edge is just the way I prefer my pearls. I feel like this faux leather skirt givesĀ themĀ the right kind of edge, no? Just a little bit of edge well — as edgy as pearls and faux leather can get anyways.

  1. Hey Kendi,

I love your outfit, and I love the pearls. What a great campaign.

Could you share the info on your sunglasses? I love those also.

    Thanks!

  2. I have a faux black leather pencil skirt but for some reason, when I wear it – I feel very dominatrix in it…I think it’s the length factor going to the knees, because yours doesn’t give that effect. Maybe I need to hem mine a bit like yours to make it more sweet!….hmm! Love this!
