One of my favorite things about spring is a pretty dress. Sure it’s beautiful outside and everyone is generally happy to have survived that winter, but all the sunshine and lovely weather is just a gateway for my need to wear pretty, colorful, girly dresses. Should I probably just pick up and move to California where the dress code year round is basically pretty dresses? Yes. Will I stay here in Texas and just whine about it for the 4 months out of the year that I can’t get away with dresses? Yes. Besides what else would we talk about during the winter?
Since last Friday was officially the first day of spring and I can literally hear birds singing outside of my window right now, I feel like this post is here to celebrate all things spring. Or in other words to celebrate all the pretty and colorful spring styles I’ve found at Nordstrom lately. Obviously the top of my list is this 1.state dress and it’s new best friend, the boyfriend blazer.  If this outfit doesn’t politely scream ‘spring’ at you and then apologizes for raising her voice, I just don’t know what will.
A few of my favorite spring finds right now at Nordstrom, all under $150.

  2. The dress is lovely, I love the colours of the flowers. This outfit definitely screams spring. I wish you had opted for pink or nude shoes but the black works just fine. I love the addition of the white blazer as well.

  3. This is such a pretty spring look. Love the colors of the dress! It snowed here recently in Chicago and all I want is for it to be sunny and warm(er). Can't wait to wear dresses without tights and sweaters!

  4. One of my best friends lives in Chicago and she was SO sad that it snowed again after a few really mild days! Spring will come, my dear. And if it doesn't, just move to Texas. 😉

  5. You have the most beautiful clothes! I am pinning your pics a few times a week 🙂 Are you able to look into adding "pin it" links to your pictures to make it a bit easier for those of us who keep track of your great outfit on Pinterest?

  6. This is so great! (loud, happy clapping):) (Monday's outfit too – both so pretty) I think I just "found" my Easter dress. Your spring looks are my favorite. Probably partly because I live in the Midwest and every year I cannot WAIT for spring to break through – I start to live vicariously through you and your sunshiney pictures and bright, cheery outfits…

  7. Hi Kendi ! I follow your blog for a few weeks and I like your outfits a lot, it's very refreshing and joyful and very refined at the same time. Bravo ! I especially love your shoes … it makes me wonder: with this outfit, why did you choose black stilettos? Why not some beige or nude, to go with the soft colors of the dress and the white blazer ? Is it to match the sunglasses ?
Thanks for the light and happy spring to you !

  8. I actually like the black sandals. I would have never paired them with that outfit, but they really seem to ground the outfit! Maybe it also works so well it's because the dress is bookended between the black sandals & your dark hair. Who knows, but kudos to you!! jodie

  9. Perfect look.. India is too hot in summer and spring is very short lived so I am planning to purchase lemon green kind of shade for a lower and a cute top from lucknowi chicken work, which is very cooling and comfortable for Indian summer.. What do you suggest?
