I have a new theory about Mondays, if I get up and get dressed — like really dressed up — I’ll have  better day. Because let me tell you something: I hate Mondays. On Sunday I’m happy, vibrant and full of life. But something happens in the dark hours of the night and by Monday morning I’m cranky, fuzzy and can’t think straight. Fuzzy as in it’s noon here and I’m still responding with grunts to most questions I’m being asked. (My husband is used to this Monday monster I become but welcomes and appreciates your sympathy.) BUT I will say that my theory of getting dressed up a little more than I typically would for a Monday actually helps. Wearing this pretty and happy floral skirt makes me sit up a little straighter, walk with a bit more cheer and overall feel better about attacking the day’s list. A little bit of effort goes a long way on days that I wake up and think that I just can’t, because in all truth — I really can. It’s just Monday lying to me. And I can do it all while in heels.
No more Monday blues around here today. Well, except the good kind like this skirt and perfectly matched purse. I’ll gladly take those kind of blues.

  1. I love all these blues! There’s always been something spring-y about navy paired with lighter colors. And the sporty/femme combo is killer!

  2. Couldn’t agree more… nothing makes a day worse than it needs to be than not feeling like you look and feel “put together”. It’s like leaving the house without putting on perfume = guaranteed bad day.

  4. I feel like the weather right now in DFW is perfect for midi skirts! I proclaimed this week midi skirt week on my blog, so I love this inspiration! Also- those shoes are so good. What a great look!

  5. The design on that skirt is gorgeous! I like the top, too, but it looks a little snug through the bust and shoulders. Eyelet is so crave-able right now!

  9. My freshman year of college, I had friends who made a pact to dress up for finals according to the theory of “dress classy, get classy grades.” Loving the real-life version. 🙂 And I love those shoes! Feminine and modern, so perfect.
