I would like to sit here and tell you that the pattern in these pants intimidated me, but let’s be honest: I’m past pants intimidation. In fact, this isn’t my first rodeo with python pants. 9th grade homecoming this girl wore pleather, python pants with a sleeveless mock turtleneck sweater. Would you believe that I went to homecoming alone that year? I know, it’s still hard to believe the boys resisted a mock turtleneck.

A few people have asked about this jacket and the quality, since it’s quickly become a favorite on here. As far as faux / vegan / not real leather goes, I really like how moveable (is that a thing?) this jacket is. I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it looks like real leather, but I don’t really think that’s the goal of faux leather anymore. I think it has a look of it’s own instead of trying to imitate the real thing. I find myself reaching for this jacket more than usual, of course I’m in Texas and winters here are mild. Although I will say that this morning was 10 degrees. (10 DEGREES!!!) Now feel free to leave the temperature in your neck of the woods and tell me how much of a wimp I am when it comes to cold weather. I’ve got my faux leather jacket to keep me warm. *wink*

  1. I love faux leather – I wear mine as much as possible too. Cute and comfy! And I understand…I’m in Seattle complaining about the 50 degree weather – I can’t imagine even being at 10!

    1. Ha! It’s not terrible here in Texas, really. The sun is shining today and zero wind so that is nice! We are just very, very ill prepared for cold temps, even though they seem to happen every year 🙂

  2. Loving the pants and your ability to be stylish in the freezing cold! Also, what is that gorgeous lip color?

  3. WI was -14 yesterday (without windchill), but I suppose that’s why one doesn’t choose to live in Wisconsin 🙂

  4. Love those pants! Are they a knit, rayon, polyester? I went to the website and they don’t tell what the pants are made of. Just wondering about sizing!

    1. True to size, as I’m wearing the mediums and that’s typically what I am! I think it’s a poly blend…I’m actually wearing them right now so I can’t check but just by feeling them, I’d say either 100% poly or a mix of poly and maybe rayon.

  5. We’re finally above 0 here in MI today and I wish I could say I look as cute as you. My giant snow boots and worn out coat just can’t compare to faux leather and python pants. Maybe this spring 😉

  6. I don’t think you’re a wimp. It’s finally dropped down to the 50’s today in Northern Cali and it sprinkled a little too so I bundled up in my warm coat, beanie, and gloves. I might have over down it on the layers. lol

  7. Can we talk about the fact that those pants have a draw string! You seriously just up the sweatpants-as-day-wear game. Also, I want them in every pattern imaginable.

  8. That is a hilarious story about the mock!! I Love these pants…they fall into the category of would like to wear pj pants all day but that’s not going to happen so here is a realistic, go out in public appropriate option! I have been looking for a pant like this for a while but because I have hips the perfect fit for me is not so easy to find…oh well I love a good fashion challenge!

  9. Normally I hate anything snakeskin but, you’ve made me love it in this outfit!!!

  10. I actually feel for the deep south getting hit by the cold. I’m from ND so I’m used to really cold, but at least the northern states are prepped/can handle the colder weather. You guys just are NOT – it really can cause serious problems and damage (as I saw on the new today in GA). I like python, I think I’d maybe try it in a pencil skirt or heels! Off topic question: Kendi, with your new bob – do you have to deal with the dreaded triangle head at all? Mine is a little longer than yours – and I find that if I start to curl it – I get a feeling it looks like a triangle (I’m used to my hair hanging down/resting below my shoulders). Grr…

  11. I live in Alaska and it’s 45 degrees today – it’s been in the 40s-50s for the past two weeks. It is literally the nicest January we’ve ever had – highest recorded temperatures ever. I’m suspicious though, I know one of these mornings I’ll wake up to -30… It always happens this time of year. 🙂 As of now, we’re all in t-shirts and shorts, soaking up the sun – no joke! It feels like summer here. Not for long, though!

Great outfit – love the hair so much!

  12. Love this! You look fantastic. How does the jacket fit? I’ve been looking for a great vegan moto jacket, and this one fits the bill.

  14. I’ve been on the fence about a python bag, but pants are looking pretty good right about now. You look so bad ass and it looks good on ya!

  18. Team Kendi,
I bought this faux jacket from Nordy’s after I saw Kendi’s first post in it and when it arrived I was not all that impressed. What weirded me out the most was that there was no collar and the shoulders fit funny. I ended up returning it, but continue to see her wear it and second guess myself.
It is definitely faux, but it’s a great price and if that’s what you’re looking for, I say you “faux” for it. 🙂

  21. You are brave if you are wearing this outfit on a 10-degree temps day! I would be bundled up with a good-sized coat myself. And I am in Chicago where we were just having -29 deg (with wind chill) a day ago.

  23. Love everything! Especially the necklace- is there a link where we can find it? Many thanks! 🙂

  26. You look really great as always! 🙂 I love the jacket — I never even thought about leather/faux leather jackets until I saw you style them here. As for the weather: over here the university cancelled classes due to the cold for the first time since 1978 (!), so I was definitely wishing for warmer climes. Except I love snow, and seasons…

  33. Well it WAS colder here, but 10 degrees is still cold, so complain away. I absolutely love this look on you. Almost as much as I love the idea of your homecoming outfit (I wouldn’t be surprised if I wore a very similar outfit in the early 2000s).

  34. Well, let’s see…one morning this week, I checked the weather and it said, “-3 , feels like -22. Sunny.” And that’s not the worst! We’ve had wind chills reaching -55. I hate the polar vortex!

  35. I am SO glad to know that someone else thought that pleather + sleeveless turtlenecks was an attractive combo in high school. SOLIDARITY!

  36. I love the fun print of these pants Kiendi… the black makes it really pop. Your homecoming outfit sounds like a total winner btw. I'm loving it!
