I’ve been really into comfortable pieces lately. Let me rephrase that — comfortable pieces that don’t look sloppy. Because let’s be honest I’m really into yoga pants and tees and pony tails. Some mornings it’s hard to change out of my workout clothes after I go for a walk or run. But if I can talk myself into something cute and comfortable, it makes the transition much easier. These pants get an A+ in the ‘cute and comfortable’ department. Not much talking into here, I will gladly put on cute pants. Plus I like heels so there is no twisting my arm there either. Hell, I’d wear heels with yoga pants if it were acceptable. (Which by the way, I’ve been meaning to ask: Is that acceptable? No…? Okay, just checking. Asking for a friend.)
I’m sure by the title ‘transitions’ you thought I was going to talk about warm weather to cool weather dressing. Nope, just discussing the inner struggle of transitioning from gym clothes to acceptable work clothes. I’ve been in a weird habit of only getting dressed when I absolutely have to — like if I have a meeting, going out with friends or seeing other human beings besides my husband. But now that the store will be open soon I’m having to retrain my brain to remember how to dress for work again. Seems weird to say but 6 months without going somewhere like an office or in my case, the shop, every day and I feel like I’m out of habit.
But still no heels with yoga pants, right? Fair enough.

  1. Those pants are gorgeous and I'm sure just as comfortable as yoga pants!

  2. Hahaha! This made me giggle. I actually had this same conversation with myself this weekend. Most days I work from home = tshirt and yoga pants. This morning I put on actual pants and an actual shirt mainly because I didn't feel like my cute clothes were getting enough love.

  3. YES. Thank you for this post. I bought a similar black and white pair of this style of pants while in Italy this summer (they are everywhere over there!) and I have been struggling how to style them for fall. Problem solved.

  4. I love how you made these pants so dressy. I tried on a similar style pants this weekend and just could not figure out how to make them work for me.

BTW, I am hosting a wink up this Thursday and hope that you can join me.

  5. I don't know why but I find your tone today hilarious! I would totally wear yoga pants and heels to the office if it was acceptable! let's start a movement 🙂

  6. I was on sabbatical for 6 months and wore nothing but yoga pants for that entire time. Work clothes were a huge cramp in my style. They were also tighter than I'd remembered … yoga pants aren't as good at telling you when you've put on a few extra lbs, apparently. Damn that spandex.

  7. This pant is really cute. The color is saturated nicely & has a fun pattern. Though you decided to steip them up a notch, I can totally see these being worn with a fun sneaker and tank/tee.
To answer your question, a heel & "yoga pant"? NO! But I wonder if your friend is using the proper terminology. Does she mean actual workout clothing or does she mean a legging? A thick cotton/lycra, structured waist legging. I know some girls get fitness & regular wear confused. Yoga pants come in many different styles & variations of fabric but I still say no. A legging & heel, you see that all the time. Sometimes executed well, other times, not so much. Here in NYC, I see many different looks. The girls that do the legging-heel combo well, clearly know what they're doing, what their body looks like & how to style the look in a chic manner.
I could totally see you switching out the pant you're wearing here for a legging. Just change the top, making it something a bit my streamline & chic. Keep the jacket. Change out the shoe as the one you're wearing here looks too much like a busines pump due to the high vamp & low shank. I think a true stiletto would be amazing.
    Just one girls opinion.
