The statement I’m about to make seems juxtaposed but it’s true: I love a long sleeve dress in summer. I know it’s hot and I know it seems counterproductive in the heat but for whatever reason, I love it. I have this dress from J.Crew which has been on repeat because it’s so easy to wear and a lot of my favorite cover ups are long sleeves, too. Maybe it’s a subconscious way that I protect my skin from the sun or a way for me to stay warm in the freezing A/C?
No surprise that I would love this J.Crew dress. It’s lightweight — like surprisingly lightweight, even less so than linen and the fit is so chic. I realized later that you can pull it down on your shoulders too, which is such a vibe. I didn’t have the right bra for it for this look, but it’s on my to-wear list next. I’m in the medium of the dress — it runs loose / generously so if you are in between sizes go down a size! It is lined and is lightweight but not sheer with the lining. Also the arms aren’t lined and there is an eyelet opening along the side so it’s like free air conditioning too. It was actually quite perfect and this day I wore this it was hot!
