I introduce you to the romper that never made it out of my suitcase in Europe.

So… no Europe photos today as I had planned. But I have a great excuse: I picked up some random virus at the airport and I was bed-bound all weekend. You can’t be mad at that, now can you? Of course, that’s what happens when you kiss strangers and share random drinks in airports, kids. Remember that when traveling. It’s also what happens when others do not cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze, which is on a whole other level of concern for me. I watched so many open mouth sneezes and coughs and so many unwashed hands in the bathroom, I swear I could pinpoint the minute I got sick. Of course my non-paranoid husband feels great. I actually guarantee you that my paranoia of becoming sick and the over usage of hand-santizer is why I got sick. What is that called? Murphy’s Law? I’m sure there is a lesson in here somewhere, but for now I’ll stick to my germaphobia ways and go ahead and wash my hands three more times, just in case.

We had initially planned to end our trip in Italy but decided to come home a week early instead. Therefore this cute romper did not have a chance to be worn, especially not in the cool airs of Paris and Zurich. (I mentioned this a few times on Instagram, but a ‘what not to pack / what to pack’ post is coming. My whole suitcase was just one big sarcastic eye roll to the weather conditions.) Since I didn’t wear it on our excursions, it was the first thing I wanted to put on today. AKA I’m still living out of my unpacked suitcase. I don’t know if it was the traveling, the atmosphere or perhaps Europe itself, but there is something so beautiful about the simple pieces in one’s closet. This outfit is so simple, but I’m crazy about it. I was certain that I would go to Europe, fall completely in love and want to move my life overseas and find a chicer, more lovely way to live. While I did fall in love, I didn’t find myself ready to move but instead found a gratitude for our life here and for what I do and do not have.
I guess, travel really is good for the soul. All of this deepness brought to you by a little black romper. Who knew?

  1. We love, love Europe, but it's usually while standing in the US Immigration line that I think to myself, "I'm so glad to be back home!" I dig your romper and hope you feel better!

  2. Yes to that! In each country when we went through the process, I was just excited to get a stamp in my passport 🙂

  3. You have been to Zürich? Oh a pity I didnt meet you by chance somewhere around here 😉 Would have been too awkward and funny 😀 Haha!
    Hope you are better now,

  4. You look effortless and cute at the same time! It's the perfect combo. 🙂 I hope you feel better!

  5. Sorry to hear that you've been sick and I know what you mean, I'm the same when it comes to being "freaked" out about the germs and people which don't put their hands on the mouth when coughing or so. Anyway, you look super pretty in this lovely and simple outfit 🙂

  6. I hope whatever brought you home early is ALL GOOD THINGS. Crossing my fingers for good things.

I am just not sold on rompers. I just can't do it! I can look at photo after photo of people looking adorable in rompers, and my brain just goes "nope" and shuts down and decides to read it as a tank top and shorts. Which… kinda sucks because rompers are such a trend right now. Oh well.

  7. I hope you're feeling better, girl! That romper is darling! And I can't wait for your travel photos! As dirty as people can be, I'll bet it was nice to have a little escape with your man! 🙂

  8. I love it as well! 🙂 We just moved here a year ago and I also like it a lot! Hope you had a great time and some good weather? It is splendid now 😀
    Take care,

  10. Oh yes, all good things. More or less it was exhaustion on both of our parts. We literally moved everything out of bloom, turned in the keys and then flew half way across the world in 24 hours. So I think from traveling and just life we were pretty tired. It was a good trip for sure. But maybe next time we will take a breather before jetting off 🙂

  11. The last time I fly I come home incredibly ill and was bedridden for a week. I'm scared to step foot into an airport ever again!

  12. Oh dear! Why did you come home early? Was it because you got sick? Such a shame to spend so much money to get there then to have to leave early. Get well soon!

  13. I own this exact romper from Loft and have already worn it quite a few times.. I was hesitant but fell in love when I tried it on! I loved it so much, I just ordered Loft's navy linen romper. If you're in doubt, go to the store and try it on – you may be surprised! I also paired mine with a denim jacket and wedges but have also worn it with gladiator sandals and a statement necklace. Very versatile, comfortable, and worth every penny!
