We took these photos a while back, when it first decided to turn chilly this fall. I was so excited because I’d bought this sweater from Loft when it was still hot. The same temperature in the spring that we think it’s warm enough to wear shorts is the same temperature we think it’s appropriate for a sweater. Texas logic.

I haven’t worn real clothes since Saturday. (Serves me right for wearing a full length sequin maxi skirt on a Saturday.) I don’t’ know why but these last few weeks have been a whirlwind and to be honest, I’m exhausted. And our house looked like someone lost something and tore everything apart looking for it. And by someone I mean just me and my husband and by lost something I mean we are the messiest human beings in the world. But on Sunday when I realized we had 8 loads of laundry, I also realized that it was a sign that I needed to slow down. (We also needed underwear at that point.) So that’s why I’m using an outfit from a few weeks ago. Honestly, I’d forgot about this outfit until this morning when I realized I’d saved a good one for a rainy day. Today is my rainy day and I’m taking a time out.

And can we talk about soft pants for a minute? I feel like I’m getting away with something in these pants. I  mean I’m wearing to work what are basically pajama pants with heels. Thank you fashion for thinking of my comfort and laziness and combining them into a pant.

(Also, laundry load is now down to 3. I’m a miracle worker.)

  1. I love these comfy looking pants Kendi! Trust me, we all have those weeks when the laundry piles up and buying new underwear seems like the best option. It'll all seem more manageable down the road, promise!

  2. Your post is entertaining to read besides being super relatable 🙂 Who DOESN'T do their laundry just when there's no underwear? 😀

The outfit is great, the first thing I thought when I saw it, that it's very Danish! (I'm Latvian living in Denmark) and it reminded me of what I see in the streets. You look amazing and I am, as always, in love with your hair 🙂

  8. Maybe it's time to get some help. I was at an Avon seminar yesterday and we were told to see our business as $20 or $50 and hr or whatever job. If doing laundry, mailing letters…(mundane stuff) are not worth the $20 or $50 an hr, pay someone else to do it and spend your time doing the more valuable things. Unless you love doing laundry and cleaning…

  9. Those pants are darling! I say, if you make it through a couple of busy weeks, you deserve to wear pajama pants and heels. Heck, where whatever you want! 🙂

  10. Girl, I get you. I never do my laundry until I need the underwear. I love, love, love your outfit! You look so comfortable, but also look really put together! Win-win 😉

  11. Can I say that I've been ogling each and every one of your outfits for like the last month? You're my wardrobe's muse! <3 I have a few pairs of joggers, and thrown with pumps or cute ankle booties makes it look so professional 😉

  12. Umm, can we talk about how *gorgeous* that lip color is on you?! I love a good berry color for fall!

  13. I also miss just scrolling down to see the entire post. Is there a reason a lot of blogs are switching away from the scroll down format?

  14. I second your comment on silky pants. I am featuring a pair on my blog tomorrow from LOFT and I love them, they are so forgiving and very comfortable and versatile. Yours are great!

  15. This is a great every day outfit. Gorgeous. Slow down, girl. It is the perfect time to have a break (right before the holiday season) x

  16. Love this outfit…but hate that you switched to "click through to see the rest of the post" format, a rather obvious and desperate way to increase page views.

  17. Let's hear it for time-out! I slept all day yesterday. Guess who was roaming the internet starting with 4am? :))
That sweater temperature vs. shorts temperature has a good explanation. Now your body is accustomed to heat, so when it drops to 23, you need a sweater. But after winter, whole different ballgame. 25 degrees after low temperatures calls for short sleeves.

  18. Hey Amber,
Whats your blogs name…actually im looking out for ways to silk pants but nt liking any… so maybe your blogs post can help… 🙂
    anyways…tc…
    Thanks
    🙂

  19. we have a similar quirk here in Michigan… in the fall we break out our coats at the same temperature in the spring that we think it's okay to go without them. there is no weather logic.

  20. It's amazing how quickly laundry can sneak up on you!!!! Great outfit today. I totally know what you mean about slowing down. Looking forward to some rest during the holidays (I Hope!!)

  21. You are soooo lucky to have a husband who allows you to have nice things. We are poor because i am a stay at home mom, but when i did work my husband couldnt stand me buying or spending money on clothes. Most of my stuff now is on ebay.

  22. Something about the sweatpants trend in the fashion makes me go 'hmmm'… but you pull it off beautifully
